GCH Preceptorship Program Expansion and Dedication Geary Community Hospital announced the expansion and dedication of their preceptorship program in partnership with KU Medical Center, called the Dr. Ronald D. Mace Rural Medicine Education Pro-gram. With this project expansion we are allowing for a higher and steadier number of students to learn about rural healthcare right here in Geary County”, said Dr. Joe Stratton, GCH CEO. The expan-sion entails a housing area on the GCH campus where students can stay at no cost. The room will be created with memorial funds from the Dr. Ronald D. Mace Fund for Medical Education through Geary Community Healthcare Foundation. Students will be able to reside up to a month at a time and study under various physicians throughout their stay. “...This will allow for more educational opportunities for medical students across the state of Kansas,” Stratton said. “We are also extremely proud to name this program and medical student apartment suite in honor of the late Dr. Ron Mace,” stated Stratton. “He was an integral part of our GCH foundation and hosted several medical students for many years.”
