Centrifugal separation of GEA Westfalia Separator is used in a wide range of industries at various locations in more than 2500 process applications.
Independently of the location, for instance in the
beverage industry, the dairy industry, for processing
renewable resources or in the chemical and pharma-
ceutical industries. As a result of its minimum space
requirement, GEA Westfalia Separator directdrive
can easily be integrated in existing production pro-
cesses and process chains.
Unlimited application
The solution of integrating the drive in the separator
has resulted in such a compact design that the space
requirement of GEA Westfalia Separator directdrive
is 30 to 35 percent lower than is the case with other
separating solutions. There is no need for special
structural measures, such as knocking through
ceilings, which would be necessary in arrangements
covering two storeys. This means that GEA Westfalia
Separator directdrive can be used in virtually
unlimited applications.
The form follows the function
The modern and space-saving high-tech design
is functional and focuses on the major task of a
separator: namely that of performing separating
processes in conjunction with minimum energy loss.
The result is not only a separator which is particularly

The calculation is simple: what does not exist is not used, cannot create any noise, and also does not have to be maintained.
The integrated design of the GEA Westfalia Separator
directdrive does not use components such as a gear
or belt drive. The direct transmission of power in the
drive results in a much lower noise level, in conjunc-
tion with low-wear operation.
The technical solution of the GEA Westfalia Separator
directdrive is extremely simple: the rotor of the
drive has been connected directly to the spindle of the
separator. The motor is fixed to the separator frame.
This means that a separate motor bearing is also not
necessary.

The lower noise emissions improve the ambient
conditions at the workplace, thus reducing health
problems for employees and reducing accident risks.
In addition, the simple user guidance requires much
