Installation configuration

TheGDS20shouldbelocatedonaflat,levelandfirmsurfacepositionedawayfrompathwaystopreventtriphazards.EachcorneroftheGDS20featuresapredrilledholesuitableforfixingtheloudspeakertotheground,theseshouldnotbeusedformountingtheloudspeakerabovegroundlevel.Theloudspeakerisdesignedtodistributebackgroundmusicthrough360°inandaroundhotelgrounds,gardensandoutdoorspaces.Theloudspeakershouldbemountedintheuprightpositionwiththeconnectingcableexitingtowardsthegroundtopreventmoistureingress.

Important installation advice

•Allloudspeakershavetobeconnectedtoeithertheconstantvoltagelineandwiredinparallel,orlowimpedanceandwiredtoprovidethecorrectloadtotheamplifier.

•Theoutputpowerisselectableusingthewiresprovidedonthebaseofthespeaker.•Asthevoltageonthelinecanapproach100V,installationmustfollowthebestpracticewithdoubleinsulatedcablebeingused.Cablerunsshouldbekeptawayfromanypotentialsourceofinterferencesuchas3phasemains,datacables,telecomcablesetc.

•100Vlinesystemsmustalwaysbewiredinparallelandthetotalloadpresentedtotheamplifiermustnotexceedtheratedoutputoftheamplifierordamagecanresult.

•YoumustNEVERmix100Vlineandlowimpedancespeakersonthesamesystem.•DONOTrunmicrophonecablesnearmains,data,telephoneor100Vlinecables.•DONOTexceed90%oftheamplifiersoutputpowerwhenusing100Vline(speechonly).•DONOTexceed70%oftheamplifiersoutputpowerwhenusing100Vline(highlevelbackgroundmusiconly).•ENSUREthatallloudspeakersarein-phase.•ENSUREthattherearenoshortcircuitsontheloudspeakerlinebeforeconnectionoftheamplifier.•Whereitisintendedtousemultiplelowimpedancespeakerstocoveranarea,thespeakersmustbewiredinaseries/parallelarrangementinsuchawayastopresentthecorrectloadtotheamplifier.

Theloudspeakermaybeusedwitheither100Vorlowimpedancesystems.Careshouldbetakentoconnecttheloudspeakerusingthecorrectcombinationofwiresforthedesiredapplication.ConnectionsshouldbemadeusingsuitableIPratedterminaljunctionboxes(notsupplied).
