Setting up operations in Japan
May 2006: Decision to set up Genedata KK in Japan
June 2006 - February 2007: Foundation process
−Hiring General Manager (scientist/business person, Swiss,
living in Japan for several years)
−Start with home-office
−Preparing foundation of Genedata KK supported by Jetro IBSC Tokyo (incl. renting office space from November 2006 until February 2007, consulting on tax matters, social security, etc.)
− Incorporation of Genedata KK on 2nd of February 2007
In parallel:
−Hiring of 2 professional Japanese staff members in September 2006
−Director of Sales
−Scientific Consultant
−First customer visits (together with technical support from Basel)
