JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Day One Project Development Manager
SALARY: £40,000 per annum (Fixed 3 year contract)
DEPARTMENT: Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Charitable Foundation Chief Executive
RESPONSIBLE TO: Charitable Foundation Chief Executive
HOURS: 37½ hours per week, flexible working is essential to meet the needs of the post
LOCATION: Office based in Leeds with nationwide travel
JOB PURPOSE
To support the development and timely implementation of the Linked Charity Day One’s national expansion plan. To grow and support the other 26 major trauma centres and associated trauma services, becoming the hub of a national charity supporting Trauma patients nationwide
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To develop and deliver a successful strategy to expand Day One beyond Leeds in line with the Linked Charity’s mission statement
To implement the Day One expansion strategy, creating strong partnerships and working relationships across the Major Trauma Network of the 27 Major Trauma Centres and beyond
Motivate and develop teams across the trauma network, creating a group of likeminded committees that will advocate Day One
Ensure best value is delivered through utilising the Day One team, organisational and support materials to maximise best returns for the Charity
Work with and co-design creative PR and marketing campaigns with the team and with our external corporate partners
Ensure that Day One’s aims and objectives are met and all legal and other obligations are adhered to
Communications
Be an established leader with personal gravitas and ability to work with and influence at all levels including senior and executive management
Have good planning and prioritising skills to manage a varied and pressurised workload while focussing on the “big picture”
Be able to work collaboratively Focus on the achievements of targets Be diplomatic and persuasive Be an active advocate for Day One and build relationships internally and with
external partners To work closely with the Trust’s and/or external communications teams to
ensure that all written communications and materials produced comply with design standards and appropriate legislation as may be briefed to you from time to time (e.g. style guides, document templates, legal wordings, charities legislation requirements)
To undertake any audits or surveys as necessary

To keep up to date with current Major Trauma Centre’s activities and developments as well as developments and initiatives within the NHS in order to identify suitable new opportunities

To be available to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as may be reasonably necessary
The maintaining of excellent records The post holder will ensure the proper use of resources such as stationery,
telephone usage, photocopying and other consumables in the course of business, ensuring minimal waste and minimal cost
ORGANISATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
To maintain the confidentiality of Day One and the Trust in respect of patient and staff information obtained at all times, and use such information only as authorised for specific purposes. Report any concerns about the use of such information to the Charity Director
PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The post-holder is responsible for taking reasonable care with regard to themselves as well as for any colleagues, patients or visitors who might be affected by any act or failure to act by the post-holder in accordance with the Leeds Hospitals Charitable Foundations policies on Health and Safety at Work
To report any accident, untoward incident or loss relating to staff, patients or visitors in accordance with Leeds Hospitals Charitable Foundation policies
To undertake in-service training relevant to the post Comply with Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation Policies and Procedures
AREA OF WORK
The post holder will be required to undertake training events at any site across the Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation
The post holder may be requested to cover other areas within the Charity at short notice to cover unplanned sickness, planned sickness or annual leave
Office based at Leeds General Infirmary with nationwide travel as required to fulfil the requirements of the post
STAFF DEVELOPMENT, TRAINING AND EDUCATION
As the post holder will be based within the Hospital grounds there is a requirement to undertake mandatory training. It is the responsibility of the post holder to keep this training up to date
The post holder will have an appraisal of performance each year and will be responsible for agreeing a development plan with their manager, which will be reviewed each year
The Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation will provide assistance and agreed development to enable the post holder to achieve their objectives and standards in line with the development plan
If the post holder feels he/she is not achieving their objective as agreed in the development plan, they will bring it to the attention of their manager at the earliest opportunity
HEALTH AND SAFETY
Work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations at all times Report any incidents of breaches of Health and Safety and report any
dangerous acts or omissions seen in the course of duty that compromise the Health and Safety of staff or patients using the Trust Health and Safety policy
Comply with audit recommendations and risk assessment recommendations to make the workplace and work practice safer
Assist when required to do so in any risk assessment activity undertaken
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The post holder will be required to work at any location where the Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation provides services
All professional and managerial staff are required to work in accordance with their particular Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action (please refer to disciplinary policy for further information)
In carrying out their duties the post holder must promote equality of opportunity and take every opportunity to eliminate discrimination
The post holder is required to keep confidential all information and documentation relating to either a patient, a member of staff or Directorate’s business, which he/she comes into contact with. All staff are expected to respect the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998, as this incorporates the need for a high standard of data quality, confidentiality and information security
The Trust adopted a “bare below the elbow policy” and expects that all staff adhere to the policy in the clinical areas and settings where health care is provided e.g. the patient’s own home. The policy statement is accessible on the intranet and defines the clinical area. Individuals can expect to be challenged if they are observed not to be adhering to the policy statement

Smoke Free Policy
The NHS Trust has a Smoke Free Policy
Smoking is not permitted: -
Inside any building owned or used by the Trust or in areas used by NHS Trust staff in buildings shared with other organisations
In the grounds and car parks of premises of the NHS Trusts In the entrances of any of the NHS Trusts In the immediate areas outside NHS Trusts In vehicles owned or leased by Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation
Staff are not permitted to smoke whilst in uniform and / or wearing a staff badge in areas where they can be seen by the public

In the unlikely event of a member of staff not respecting the policy, their line manager will attempt to resolve the situation informally in the first instance.
