PHIL DUDMAN ASSASSINS CREED 3 Set in the American Colonies in 1775, you play Connor, a Native American warrior, starting the fires of revolution and destined to be transformed into a Master Assassin. This time, the centuries old battle is between the Assassin’s Order and their sworn enemy. The Templars take you through blood-stained battlefields to crowded city streets and into the wilderness beyond in a tale of historic conspiracy. Boosted by a new Anvil Next engine, the physics of sneaking up and tomahawking someone in the face are also better than ever, and with famous historical cameos this one’s definitely worth the Benjamin Franklins. PHIL DUDMAN HITMAN ABSOLUTION Picking up the story where its prequels left off, Hitman Absolution more than lives up to the anticipation. Based on stealth assassination, disguises, infiltration, all manner of weapons and hiding in quite a few dumpsters and cupboards, this also offers a new online Contracts mode, letting gamers create, share and play their own custom hit challenges. Graphically this is a slick, cinematic affair, with a storyline to match featuring more plot twists than you can garrotte with your piano wire, as Agent 47 seeks to uncover the truth behind his troubled existence and, perhaps, some kind of absolution. PHIL DUDMAN SONIC ALL-STARS RACING TRANSFORMED Is it a car? Is it a boat? Is it a plane? Yes. A transforming car-boat- plane, to be precise, with everyone’s favourite hedgehog at the controls. Each character’s vehicle in this fast-paced racer, from the driver in Crazy Taxi, to Tails, Shinobi and even the ugly dudes from Golden Axe, transforms automatically to adapt to each awesome circuits’ terrain. These range from roadways to liquid lava flows to flying through space, adding a new dimension to the karting genre. Plus, with a ‘no blue shell’ fair weapon policy, online split-screen and battle modes, there’s plenty to check under the bonnet. PHIL DUDMAN PREVIEW: CONSOLE GAMES 1 2 4 3 5 1 5 2 4 3
