Coach Jim Crowley won his 125th game at St. Bonaventure against Fordham and his 165th of his career at Temple. The double-digit victory against Fordham is the largest conference victory since 1999. The Bonnies held Temple to just one made three-pointer. Dana Mitchell scored her 1,800th career point in the 63-52 loss against Xavier on January 23. Mitchell became the third player in program history to reach the milestone. Senior Dana Mitchell is second in the A-10 in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game. She has put up 18 points or more in eight out of the last 13 contests. Senior Andrea Doneth entered the top 10 list in assists with 278. She leads the team with 61 and is 20 away from moving into ninth. S t. Bonaventure needs five more A-10 wins to match season’s record-setting nine conference wins and just four wins to match its regular season win record. S t. Scouting the MinutewomenUMass snapped a three-game losing streak in a 71-61 win at Rhode Island on Saturday. Sophomore Kristina Danella has led the Minutewomen in scoring in 11 of the 20 games she has played in thus far with a season-high 21 points coming against BU. UMass is second in the A-10 from the line shooting 75.1 percent and first in three-pointers made per game with 6.4.

Last season against the MInuteWoMenThe Bonnies routed UMass last season 67-44. Dana Mitchell led the team with 12 points, but 10 of the 13 Bonnies who saw points registered a bucket. St. Bonaventure dominated from the line hitting 20-of-24 compared to just 12-of-16 on UMass’ end. The Minutewomen also only hit two threes compared to the Bonnies’ seven.

unDer PressureThe Bonnies scoring defense ranks 11th in the nation and first in the Atlantic 10 allowing 52.7 points per game. Fifteen of St. Bonaventure’s opponents have been held to under 60 points.

Terrific TuesdaySt. Bonaventure is 3-0 on Tuesdays. The Bonnies last played IUPUI on Tuesday, Dec. 29 and won by 30 points.

The last time the Bonnies failed to convert a three-point basket in a game was on February 14, 2004 against Temple.

In tHe natIonIn the Jan. 31 NCAA statistics, the Bonnies ranked in the top-10 in the nation in three categories - fourth in free-throw percentage (79.6) and seventh in three-point field-goal percentage (39.7) and scoring defense (52.7).

PHILaDeLPHIa – A strong offensive effort pushed the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team past an aggressive Temple team to a 64-54 victory at Liacouras Arena on Saturday afternoon. The win is the first on Temple’s home court since 2000 as St. Bonaventure improves to 4-3 in conference play and 16-6 overall. The loss is the second in conference play for the Owls who are 15-6 and 4-2 in A-10 action. The Brown and White shot 59 percent (23-42) from the floor to tie a conference-best this season. Temple shot 41 percent (24-58) and went just 1-for-9 from behind the arc. Temple dominated the boards 38-20 including 19 offensive rebounds that led to 12 second-chance points, but the difference came at the line as the best free-throw shooting team in the Atlantic 10 held up shooting 79 percent (15-19) from the charity stripe compared to 5-of-11 on the other end. Senior Dana Mitchell led four Bonnies in double figures with 18 points going 6-of-10 from the floor and 6-for-6 from line. She also grabbed a team-high five rebounds and passed out two assists. Redshirt sophomore armelia Horton also went 6-for-10 from the field and 4-for-5 from the line for 16 points, just two shy of her career-high. Sophomores Megan van tatenhove and Jessica Jenkins added 12 and 10, respectively.

“tHree” to be you and meSophomore Jessica Jenkins scored six three-pointers against Virginia to move into the ninth spot on the all-time list with 82. She now has 99 needing two more to match former teammate Erica Schiefen’s spot with 101.

she’ll taKe thatJunior Cara Gustafson has 28 steals for a tie for team-best. She has grabbed at least one steal in 17 of the 22 games. armelia Horton is the other Bonnie with 28 steals registering at least one in 18 of her 20 played games.

Minimal MInutesNo player on the Brown and White is averaging more than 30 minutes a game. Seven of the 14 teams in the A-10 have at least one player averaging more than 30 minutes.
