And if you think “Hotdog” Jones’ Mariner love-fest stops there, well, as they say, you ain’t heard nothin’ yet. Jones has also had two giant foam rubber ngers that say “#1 AquaSox fan” surgically sewn to his arms. “ ey’re a bit problematic during dinner time, or when, well, you know, but it sure gets me noticed a lot as I walk around Memorial Stadium on a sunny afternoon” said the superfan. An aspiring baseball player himself, Robert’s son Bobby “Little Smokey” Jones couldn’t be happier about the indoor mini-Stadium. “I love it.

We even get to take batting practice inside the house when it’s raining. And if you hit a ball completely through the wall, it counts as a triple!” e Jones family has even gone as far as to hire an organ player when entertaining guests. “It’s kind of weird,” says one friend who wished to remain anonymous. “Every 10 minutes we all had to yell “Charge!” and do e Wave. I mean, have you ever tried doing the wave with just four people?” Needless to say, Robert “Hotdog” Jones has taken fandom to fanatical new heights.

The biggest reasons for taking the Sounder Train to Safeco Field for a Mariners game are really stacking up. You’ll not only save a bundle on gas, car maintenance and parking, you can kick back and relax as you glide past all the bumper-to-bumper traffi c traveling to and from the game. Whether you have kids, or you’re just a big kid at heart, you can’t miss the July 18th game against the Emeralds. The AquaSox have even more fun planned for the youngsters on July 20th for Kids Day. First pitch is scheduled for 11:05 a.m. to give even the smallest of children the chance to enjoy the whole game without the late-night hassles.

Saturday, July 24, the Sox return home for the first of a three-game series with the Volcanoes. The first 1,000 fans through the gates receive a complimentary AquaSox fleece blanket, courtesy of Comcast.
