Ruzicka, who has potted a pair in each of Stockton’s last two contests, is the first Heat player with consecutive three-point outings since Austin Czarnik last season on February 1 and 8. HEAT STAFF AND PLAYER BIOSCail MacLean Head Coach

Cail MacLean is in his third season as head coach of the Stockton Heat, bringing a record of 61-48-8-6 with him into the 2021 season. Named the second head coach in Stockton Heat history on June 4, 2018, MacLean is in his eighth season within the Calgary Flames’ organization, previously serving as an assistant coach with the Heat (2017-18), head coach of the ECHL’s Adirondack Thunder (2015-16 and 16-17) and assistant coach with the Abbotsford Heat (2013-14 and 14-15). The Middleton, Sova Scotia native who racked up a 157-96-35 record as a head coach in the ECHL, registered 11 seasons as a player while totaling 747 games between the AHL, IHL and ECHL.

Joe Cirella Assistant Coach

Joe Cirella is in his third season with the Heat, joining the staff prior to the 2018-19 season. It is his first stint of coaching in the professional ranks since serving as an assistant coach with the Florida Panthers in 1997-98. Cirella had previously held the title of Associate Coach of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, where he helped guide the team to the playoffs in each of his six seasons behind the bench. Cirella was a first round pick in the 1981 NHL Draft, selected fifth overall by the Colorado Rockies. Cirella skated in 828 games over the course of 15 NHL seasons with six teams.

Domenic Pittis Assistant Coach

Domenic Pittis is in his sixth season as an assistant coach with the Heat, primarily dealing with the forward group. Pittis previously served as the Calgary Flames’ Skills and Development Coach. The Calgary, Alberta native played in 86 NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators and is also an AHL alumnus with 309 games under his belt at the AHL level. Pittis was inducted into the Rochester Americans Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding playing career on Friday, January 31, 2020.
