We talk about it being an all-the-time thing, not when it
is comfortable or convenient. What kind of player do
you want to be? What kind of impact do you want to
have on the program?
Everyone has dreams of being great, but to actually go
out and make it happen through hard work is something
we strive for. It has to do with effort.
“The nice thing is individually we control all of those
things in PCE,” Bell said.

The three letters "PCE" is a cultural blueprint that Twinsburg

2018 SCHEDULE GAME DAY 360
TIGERS SEEKING FIRST PLAYOFF BERTH SINCE 2010; EIGHTH OVERALL TRIP TO POSTSEASON
This appears to be an all-or-nothing game for Twinsburg as it travels to Nordonia on Oct. 26.
The Tigers are 5-4 and in 9th in Division II, Region 5. A win over an 8-1 Knights team would push Twinsburg into the top 8 and lock up a berth.
Nordonia is a high-scoring squad reliant on QB Robby Levak. Nyles Beverly is a solid two-way player. Jon Henderson and Julia Jones have been stellar on special teams. The defense has been vulnerable, allowing 50 points in a Week 8 win.
The Tigers are led by QB Adam Van de Motter. James Besett and Jamir James continue to be offensive weapons. The defense stepped up and limited Hudson to 14 points in a Week 8 win. Rashad Land-Jones is one of the area's most consistent defensive players.
BELL RINGING - Tigers Head Coach Mike Bell discusses last week's game against
the Hudson Explorers and the upcoming week 10 game vs Nordonia
"I cant say enough about the way our young men attacked the week of preparation and the way they played with focus, purpose, and attitude on game night. We had guys making plays all night long in critical situations, and it was great to witness them doing it with tremendous energy passion."
"What more is there to say, this is a big game with a great deal on the line. We know that we need a victory against our respected rivals for a chance at the post season. I expect our young men to to bring a great deal of excitement to practice each day and to play with a high level of energy on Friday. This is exactly the type of game we all hope to have an opportunity to play and coach in, a big game with a lot on the line."

KNIGHT PLAYING ON THE SUNDAYS
Nordonia High School alumnus, DENZEL WARD, was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round (fourth overall selection) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Ward was the first defensive back drafted in 2018, and signed his professional contract earlier this summer. Ward to a fully guaranteed four-year, $29.16 million contract that includes a signing bonus of $19.29 million.
At Nordonia, Ward played cornerback and wide receiver on the football team and in the spring, he ran track for the Knights, placing state-wide in the 100-meters and 200-meters.
Ward attended Ohio State University, recording 67 tackles in three seasons with the Buckeyes. He also intercepted two passes during his career in Columbus.
NORDONIA HAS 'UNOFFICIALLY' QUALIFIED FOR THE DIVISION II, REGION 5 PLAYOFFS IN 2018
According to JoeEitel.com, the Knights have clinched a 2018 playoff berth in Division II. The official playoff brackets will be announced by the OHSAA on Sunday, October 28.
2018 will be the 14th year that the Knights have played in the postseason, with a 16-13 overall record in the previous appearances.
Nordonia's last appearance in the postseason was following the 2015 season.
The Knights have played for a state championship in two seasons - 2002 and 2014.
Ethan Wohlwend hit a 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to push Twinsburg to a 17-14 win at Hudson on Oct. 19.
Adam Van de Motter threw touchdown passes to Tyler Brazie and James Besett in a must-win for the Tigers, who improved to 5-4 and stayed alive in the Division II, Region 5 playoff race.
The game was tied at 7 and again at 14 in the fourth quarter before Wohlwend broke the deadlock.
Twinsburg travels to Nordonia for a critical match-up in Week 10.

Mike Bell is in his fourth year as coach of the Tigers and is looking to build on his past successes, bringing winning football back to Twinsburg.
Prior to coming to Twinsburg, Bell served one year as the head coach at Eastlake North and had a very successful 12-year run as head coach at Lake Catholic in Mentor.
In 12 seasons at Lake Catholic, the Cougars won 6 NCL Championships, qualified for the state playoffs 8 times (playoff record of 17-8) with 5 Regional Title appearances (2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010) and 3 state semifinal appearances (2007, 2009, and 2010).
Prior to 2002, Bell served as the Cougars' defensive coordinator for three seasons, winning the Division III State Championship in 2001.
Prior to coaching at Lake Catholic, Bell spent three years at Willoughby South as a position coach and defensive coordinator, four years at Maple Heights, and two seasons at his alma mater Pymatuning Valley.
The first step toward creating an improved future is developing the ability to envision it.
VISION will ignite the fire of passion, which fuels our commitment to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to achieve excellence.
Only VISION allows us to transform dreams of greatness into the reality of achievement through human action.
VISION has no boundaries and knows no limit.
Our VISION is what we become in life.

Twinsburg coach Mike Bell has always been a strong believer in building a program and not just simply a football team that competes on Friday night.
Part of that is the involvement of those outside of the players and coaches, including the administration, the community and perhaps most importantly, the football parents.Bell said the Tigers are extremely lucky to have the support of The Gridiron Club at Twinsburg and he doesn’t take it for granted.
“It starts with our administration doing a great job getting our young men the equipment and necessities for the game, but when you think about all the extras to make us a first-class program that is where the Gridiron Club comes in and really helps us,” Bell said.
“There are a million ways for parents to get involved and I always encourage parents to get involved and do what they can because it doesn’t last forever at the high school level obviously. The years go fast.”
The Gridiron Club is an organization of football parents in grades 7 through 12. There is no fee to join and all members of the community are welcome to attend meetings. The Club meets the second Monday of the month at Twinsburg High School. Meetings begin at 6:00 p.m. All of the fundraising is run through Twinsburg Athletic Boosters.
The Gridiron Club raises funds to help support the team off the turf. From purchasing a new sound system for the locker room to feeding the boys on Friday nights and scrimmages, purchasing football gear such as t-shirts and cinch bags, senior gifts and hosting the end of year banquet. These events are important in developing a sense of unity and pride in the program.
Twinsburg Tiger Stadium is one of the most used athletic facilities in Northeast Ohio. Twinsburg officials say Tiger Stadium's field gets used upwards of 950 times each year for various athletic events and practices -- from football, to soccer, to regional sporting events.
In the summer of 2015, the Stadium received a major upgrade to the playing surface. New field turf was installed featuring a unique blue border and a large Tiger logo at midfield. The 'grass' has a “paneled” look of lighter and darker green shades every five yards replacing the carpet that was installed in 2005.
Tiger Stadium has become a perennial site for OHSAA football playoff games, hosting two games last year - the Division I Region 1 Semifinal (St Edward vs Stow) and the Division II Region 5 Final (Hudson and Warren Harding)

1 - What is your background and why did you choose to get into coaching?I am the daughter of two high school coaches so for most of my life, any free time we had was spent in a gym. I played both volleyball and basketball in high school and at Hiram College. From a very young age, I knew I wanted to teach history and coach. It really is my dream job and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the student-athletes at Twinsburg.
2 - What are the challenges of coaching two varsity sports?Well the obvious challenge is time - fortunately I don't sleep very much and my family is especially supportive and helpful. Since I began teaching and coaching 8 years ago, I have never taken a season off. Honestly, I'm not really sure what I would do with free time. Additionally, encouraging multi-sport athletes is something very important to me so I want to be able to model that for the female athletes at Twinsburg.
3 - What is your general philosophy on teaching/coaching high school student-athletes?I aim to provide student-athletes with the opportunity to see what they are capable of and to reach their potential, both as individuals and as a team. My favorite part of coaching and teaching is watching that light come on when student-athletes realize they have done something they once believed they couldn't. In order to help kids realize their potential, I believe in setting high expectations and challenging them to step outside of their comfort zone. And, most importantly, I believe that we have a responsibility to help prepare student-athletes for adulthood. Leadership, communication, time-management, and perseverance are all things one can learn from a positive athletics experience.
4 - How important do you feel it is for various high school programs to support others (i.e your girls. supportingfootball team, vice versa)? It is crucial for student-athletes to support one another. A winning culture doesn't just exist within a team or a program - it can inspire a school and even a town. When one program experiences success, we need to do everything we can as a school to encourage and learn from them.

OCTOBER 26, 1993 - The NFL announces a new expansion team, the Carolina Panthers
In the fall of 1992, the NFL released a list of five cities open to a potential NFL expansion team: Baltimore, Maryland; St. Louis, Missouri; Memphis, Tennessee; Jacksonville, Florida; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
On October 26, 1993, the league announced that the then-28 owners unanimously voted for the city of Charlotte to receive the 29th franchise in the NFL, the first new NFL team since 1976 (Jacksonville was named the 30th team a month later). A key to the cityreceiving the franchise was that potential owner Jerry Richardson had sold more than 40,000 Personal Seat Licenses and promised to finance the new stadium with private funds.
All five regions bidding for the expansion teams eventually received NFL teams through relocations of other franchises - The Rams to St. Louis; the Oilers to Memphis; and the Browns to Baltimore, becoming the Ravens.
