Week of 1/29, 2018- Changes

• San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Saddles and Spurs Gallery:

• Henry Raschen’s The Last of His Race has come down to rest. In its place the Michael Ome Untiedt’s On the Nueces Strip; Rangers and Another Heyes Saddle has been installed.

• Oscar Berninghaus’s A Wagon Train Halts for Repairs has come down to rest. Howard Terpning’s Steer Roping has been installed.

• Please find the label information for the two piece below. You will also find images of the new pieces attached.

Week of March 19, 2018- The City of San Antonio installed two bronzes by Jim Reno on Market Street outside the horse gates that lead to our McNutt Sculpture Garden.

These will be part of a sculpture trail that connects the Briscoe to the Alamo. The labels that accompany the two sculptures that were installed (Quanah Parker and Charles Goodnight) are below. It is important to note that these sculptures are not

part of the museum's collection; they belong to the city.

C. Michael Dudash, The Dressmakers (Replaced Jordan’s Listen for the Drums (Women’s Gallery))

Martin Grelle, Gathering Storm (Replaced Andersen’s Return of the Sisters (2nd floor))

Z.S. Liang, Victory Dance, Little Bighorn 1876 (Replaced Lovell’s Marking the Crossing (near Curtis prints and Stagecoach))

Week of April 9, 2018- significant changes in the Ruth McLean Bowman Bowers (Women of the West) gallery. The Briscoe Desk has been deinstalled pending reinstallation on the

Mezzanine outside of the administrative offices. In its place we have had six new works installed. Photos are just for reference. Details and credit lines are on the next slide.
