W&I insurance has evolved so rapidly within the last few years that the benefits go far beyond the strategic deal enabler that covers unknown risks. Known tax exposures are now wrapped in, standalone policies can shift tax risks off balance sheets, and claims understanding is widening, giving clients comfort that these policies will pay out.

REAL ESTATE W&I: MORE THAN JUST A STRATEGIC TOOL
EVENT
AJGINTERNATIONAL.COM
Arthur J. Gallagher (UK) Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Registered Office: The Walbrook Building, 25 Walbrook, London, EC4N 8AW. Registered in England and Wales. Company Number: 1193013.
Speakers:
Charles Russell (Head of Real Estate Transactional Risks, Gallagher):
A focus on how real estate transactions have changed the shape of the W&I landscape, with most insurers providing policy enhancements that do not apply to other sectors.
Dawn Bhoma (Head of Tax, Neon Underwriting):
A discussion on recent real estate tax developments within the W&I Insurance sector (principally stemming from the latest budget announcement), with particular focus on known matters that are now covered in W&I policies.
Maxine Cupitt and Geoff Tan (Dispute Resolutions, CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang):
A study of their experience of resolving and participating in W&I claims over the last few years. They will discuss what to generally look out for when drafting agreements and how best to react when a notification does arise, both from the legal side and the client side. Real Estate claims in particular will be addressed, and how these policies are now paying out, rather than just being used as a strategic tool.
