THE LAW WAS A TUTOR I. INTRODUCTION
A. Some pretending to be Christians!
1. Same people perverting the Gospel!
a) Wasn't "GOOD NEWS"!!2. Told Galatians he was "amazed".
a) Christians today quick to turn to "other gospels"!3. Galatians 1:8

B. Liberty is ours in Christ!

II. Galatians 3:1-5
A. Accuses of being "under a spell"!
1. Legalism appeals to the flesh.
a) Appeals to the senses. (1) Legalist invent systems.
(a) System he can measure.
2. They had seen God the Son!a) "Clearly portrayed"
= "on a poster, display in public".
(1) Jesus Son of God!!
3. They received the Holy Spirit!
a) John 14:26b) John 14:17
4. Experienced miracle from God!
a) "among you" = "within you"!
(1) They were miracles!!!
III.Galatians 3:6-9
A. Abraham "father of all things“
1. Experiences part of the covenant!
a) Must have objective
reasoning!
(1) Must have root in the WORD OF GOD!!2. Abraham saved by faith!!! a) "reckoned" = "credited" Romans 4:20-24
(1) = "to put to one's account".
(a) Abraham believed!
1. Galatians 3:8-9
a) Descendants
guaranteed Heaven!
b) Mom and dad
religious, they get
heaven!
(1) "The Lord has
no grandchildren“
IV. ARGUMENT FROM THE LAW OF MOSES
A. Galatians 3:10-11
1. The Law not a
"religious cafeteria".
a) James 2:10
b) Had to keep
whole thing!!
a) No one could keep
the Law!
(1) Leviticus 18:5
(a) Law = "do
and live", grace =
"believe and live".
B. Galatians 3:13-14
1. "The Law = a curse, not a freedom!“
a) Jesus redeemed us!!
(1) "redeemed" = "to purchase a slave to set him free!“
(a) Salvation not exchanging for another bondage!!

us free to get
entangled with
legalism!!
C. Galatians 3:15-18
1. Promise to Abraham preceded the Law!!
2. A third person can't change a contract!!
1. Abraham's "seed" = Jesus Christ!!
a) Only Abraham, God the Father, and God the Son can change agreement!!
b) Moses could not!!!!
D. Galatians 3:19-29
1. We become sons and daughters of the Lord!
2. We are "baptized into Jesus Christ“.
