Isabela Island Located to the west side of the Galapagos Isabela is the biggest island of the archipielago, we will visit the Wall of Tears, towering 65 feet ”25m) high it was built by a penal colony established in this Island during 1947-1959. Prisoners were forced to build it stone by stone, taking the life of thousands during its construction. Then visit to The Wetlands, a complex of trails, lagoons, swamps, and mangroves which are home to a variety of unique bird species such as common stilts, whimbrels, white-cheeked pintails, and gallinules. The Love Beach is a beautiful place with nice views of the surroundings.

ITINERARYBartolome IslandThis island is famous for Pinnacle Rock, a towering spearheaded obelisk that rises from the ocean’s edge and is the best known landmark in the Galapagos. Galapagos penguins are commonly seen along the volcanic ledges of its base. There is a 600-m ”2000-foot) pathway of stairs and boardwalks leading to the summit. The route is very easy and the reward at the top is a marvelous landscape of the surrounding islands complemented with a moonscape of volcanic formations: small cones, lava tubes

Santa Fe Island The island is located to the southeast of Santa Cruz. It is one of the oldest islands in the archipelago with volcanic origin. At Santa Fe you will find sealion colonies in the beach. Galapagos hawks can often be seen on the bushes. There is a trail toward the cliffs with a magnificent view of the ocean. Giant Cactus are very common being the prfered food of land iguanas, there is also a forest of Palo Santo Trees.

Plazas IslandsThis small island with steep cliffs was formed by rising lava and is now covered by cactus and Sesuvium plants, which changes from green in the rainy season to red during the dry season. This island is the home of sea lion colonies and land iguanas.

ITINERARYSan Cristobal: Tijeretas & Punta Carola

Visit to the Interpretation Center where you will find important information about the natural history of the Islands. We will continue to Tijeretas, a small hill and habitat of Frigate Birds, also known as Tijeretas. From this place there is a beautiful view of the islands. Punta Carola is another visitor´s site included in this excursion, this is a great place to observe a big colony of sea lions, and marine iguanas lying on the rocks, here we can also observe marine birds. Finally we head towards LA LOBERÍA, located at 10 minutes from Puerto Baquerizo; there is a big colony of sea lions lying on the beachReturn to Puerto Ayora in the late afternoon and overnight

Services provided on sharing basis

El Junco is a Lagoon located inside a small crater of an extinct volcano. The name of the lagoon comes from a type of plant which is very common in the surrounding area. Frigate birds are often seen here washing the salt from their feathers as well as white-cheeked pintails and common gallinules. We will continue to La Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado, at 40 minutes drive by bus. This Breeding Center was built to improve the population of tortoises in this island. The visitors Center shows information on the tortoises and its natural history, there are trails where you can observe endemic flora of this island.

Ochoa Beach is an amazing coral beach located at 30 minutes from Puerto Baquerizo village, colonies of sea lions, phantom crabs, blue footed boobies, frigates and other species are commonly seen in this area, its calm waters permits to practice snorkeling and observe rays, turtles and tropical fish. Isla Lobos is a small islet separated from the coast by a channel in this island you can observed marine iguanas, lava lizards, seagulls, and several species of shore birds.Kicker Rock is remains of an ancient volcanic lava cone, which has been eroded by the ocean. It is formed by two vertical rocks walls which rise 500 ft above the sea and form a navigable channel, the cliffs are home to many boobies, frigates and tropic birds. This place is also known as Leon Dormido or Sleeping Lion, because in the distance, you can see it is shaped as a giant sleeping lion

ITINERARYDay 2 Isabela Island: Sierra Negra Volcano Early wake up and Breakfast. This day you will discover Sierra Negro Volcano and its giant crater of 11 km diameter. ”Sharing basis excursion)

The excursion begins with a car ride of 45 min aprox to a place called El Cura from there you will start a hike to the slopes of Sierra Negra Volcano until reach the highest altitude of 860m. The view to the caldera and crater of this volcano is amazing; on a clear day it is possible to have a great view of the surrounding Islands and their coasts. Then you will continue to Volcan Chico. Located in the Pacific Ocean, 1000 km from the South American mainland, this Ecuadorean Archipelago is known as a Living Laboratory of Evolution, made of 14 major islands and more than 60 smaller islands and islets, is surrounded by its Marine Reserve, the world’s second largest.

The combination of converging marine currents, a volcanic geological structure and their oceanic isolation has resulted in this melting pot of unique species, found nowhere else on earth. Some of the most notorious samples are the marine iguanas, the giant tortoises ”called Galapagos ) and the 13 varieties of Darwin’s finches.

REMARKS

Room capacity: Double accommodation: Two adults sharing room ”option up to 2 children). Triple Accommodation: Three adults sharing ”option 1 child). Single accommodation: An adult per room with or without children. The hotels have 2 beds maximum in each room.
