Team Players: GAIN Collaboration and Autodesk Inventor DThe GAIN Collaboration functions integrated into Autodesk Inventor offer you - as a designer - lots of support in your daily work. This includes the insertion of components using Drag & Drop and the replacement of components by means of a copy or revision. This is because the GAIN Collaboration interface is really deeply integrated into Autodesk Inventor. GAIN Collaboration supports all of the formats and document types that arise and are used in Autodesk Inventor. The bidirectional synchronization of file properties and the copying of complex assembly structures are standard functions. Management of typical Autodesk Inventor documents The GAIN Collaboration system supports and manages document types generated in Autodesk Inventor: This includes load analyses, parts from the design assistant, the piping and cabling modules, the frame generator, and iParts and iAssemblies. Content centre files from Autodesk Inventor are handled as library parts like in Inventor by GAIN Collaboration. Automatic synchronization of information GAIN Collaboration automatically synchronizes information with Autodesk Inventor in both directions. This means that specific field content from the GAIN Collaboration database can be automatically transferred to the file properties of an Autodesk Inventor document. It is then available directly in the model or in the title block of a drawing. Conversely, you can transfer properties from Autodesk Inventor documents to GAIN Collaboration. This includes the material, weight, sheet size, and scale. The values are automatically determined by the interface and saved in the dataset. Continuous - all the way to ERP GAIN Collaboration automatically captures relevant article information such as the material, weight, and bills of material from Autodesk Inventor documents. If necessary, you can add articles to the bill of material in GAIN Collaboration. You can use the coupling module in GAIN Collaboration to transfer bills of material and article master data to an ERP system. Inventor Interface

integrated into Autodesk Inventor. GAIN Collaboration supports all of theformats and document types that arise and are used in Autodesk Inventor. The bidirectional synchronization of file properties and the copying ofcomplex assembly structures are standard functions.

Management of typical Autodesk Inventor documentsThe GAIN Collaboration system supports and manages documenttypes generated in Autodesk Inventor: This includes load analyses, parts from the design assistant, the piping and cabling modules,

the frame generator, and iParts and iAssemblies. Content centre files fromAutodesk Inventor are handled as library parts like in Inventor byGAIN Collaboration.

Automatic synchronization of informationGAIN Collaboration automatically synchronizes information withAutodesk Inventor in both directions. This means that specific field contentfrom the GAIN Collaboration database can be automatically transferred to thefile properties of an Autodesk Inventor document. It is then available directlyin the model or in the title block of a drawing.Conversely, you can transfer properties from Autodesk Inventor documents toGAIN Collaboration. This includes the material, weight, sheet size, and scale. The values are automatically determined by the interface and saved inthe dataset.

Continuous - all the way to ERPGAIN Collaboration automatically captures relevant article information suchas the material, weight, and bills of material from Autodesk Inventordocuments. If necessary, you can add articles to the bill of material inGAIN Collaboration. You can use the coupling module in GAIN Collaborationto transfer bills of material and article master data to an ERP system.

Easy copying and revisingThe GAIN Collaboration system helps you to copy and revise complexstructures (assemblies, individual parts, and drawings).During the copy process, GAIN Collaboration shows you all of the referenceddocuments that can also be copied.Depending on the process at hand, GAIN Collaboration can automatically givethe files new numbers and replace them in the assemblies and drawings, too.Depending on the configuration, revisions are labelled numerically oralphabetically. When a revision is made, GAIN Collaboration always keeps theprevious version for subsequent viewing.

References and their usageGAIN Collaboration records existing references from Autodesk Inventordocuments. You can quickly view these and their usages at any time viaadditional tabs. Other practical functions offer extra support in this area foryour work with Autodesk Inventor documents.

Depending on the configuration, GAIN Collaboration can automaticallygenerate neutral formats such as PDF or XPS.This can be done during the work process upon check-in, when the statuschanges, or via the integrated job server. GAIN Collaboration stores thegenerated neutral format with your document. From here, you can view itor have it sent by GAIN Collaboration by e-mail.

Automatic: The generation of neutral formatsfor different processes

Functions for intelligent interactionThe GAIN Collaboration Browser that is integrated into Autodesk Inventorhelps you to display information about documents - such as the current status- or a new version of a document as quickly as possible.Plus: Helpful Autodesk Inventor functions such as searching for documents ina complex assembly are integrated into the GAIN Collaboration Browser.
