Page 1 of 2 Gear List and Travel Advice For Use: MS Class Trips Preparation Division: Middle School Last Update: August 2014 Category: 2014 Class Trips Purpose: Planning for Grade 8 Class Trip Gear List Plane Group Students will be active; therefore, please pack clothing that can stand some wear and tear. The climate will be warm and humid during the day, but does cool down in the evening. In the case of rain, activities will continue unless safety concerns make it necessary to cancel or postpone. As a general rule, dressing in layers with clothing made of lightweight and quick drying material is best suited to the trip. Please pack according to the suggestions below. A small daypack or book bag A poncho or rain suit A sweater or lightweight jacket 2 pair of pants 3 pairs of shorts Pajamas 6 pairs of socks 5 Tshirts 1 long sleeved shirt 5 changes of underwear A hat or baseball style cap Sturdy shoes for hiking (preferably worn in; high tops for ankle support is helpful) A pair of sports style sandals for use during water activities 1 small flashlight or headlamp and an extra set of batteries Sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) Insect repellant Sunglasses Mechanical Pencils and/or ink pens Personal items: toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, etc.… Camera (Digital cameras are preferred; please bring cords for uploading images to a teacher’s computer Alarm clock (alarm on cellphone is fine) Ziploc bags for cameras and other valuables

Gear  List  Plane  Group
