Biggest Pumpkin Contest

October 7, 2013, 10:00 AM at the 4-H Office in Arcadia

Contest Rules:

You must be an enrolled 4-H member at the time of the contest.

You must plant your pumpkin seeds by June 15th. (Can only use

seeds provided)

You must create a poster board with at least 3 pictures of you and

your pumpkin on the vine. Let your poster tell the story of your

pumpkin! Use one regular white poster board.

Pumpkin and poster must be present at the Biggest Pumpkin Con-

test on October 7, 2013, 10:00 AM at the 4-H Office. (4-H’er need

not be present to win)

Louisiana State Fair

www.statefairoflouisiana.com The State Fair offers something for EVERYONE!

Every 4-H’er in our parish should participate in some way!

Due October 17 Exhibits: You can enter exhibits in Arts & Crafts, Photography, Forestry, Home Accessories, Clothing and Insects. Get a list of categories from your 4-H Leader or visit the website above. Get them to the 4-H office by Oct. 12 and we take them to Shreveport for you!

Due October 14: BB Gun: Can you shoot a BB Gun? Sign up for the State Fair Contest on November 2,2013. Cost is $5. Transportation is not provided. Registration form and fee is due to Webster Parish 4-H by October 14. Get a form from your leader, Mrs. Liz or the State Fair website.

For Livestock Exhibitor information, contact the 4-H Office.

Camp Catch Phrase Contest

What is a good theme for 4-H Summer Camp? Send me your most creative ideas for a slogan (7 words or less) with a design for the camp t-shirt. The winning slogan will be brief and catchy capturing the spirit of 4-H Camp Grant Walker. It will be used on all camp promotional materials and the t-shirt. State winners will receive a cash prize from LAE4-HA and the parish winner will re-ceive a 4-H prize from the Bienville Parish 4-H Foundation. Beef Poster Contest

Everyone can make a Beef Poster! Parish winners will be submitted to the state contest and could win some CASH! All you have to do is make a poster telling the story of beef and/or beef products. The fin-ished poster should be appropriate for use on a billboard. Place your name, address, age, grade in school and parish on the upper right corner on the back of your poster. Posters should be 11’’x 14’’ or it will be disqualified.DO NOT use copyrighted materials.

Divisions : 4th-6th Grade, 7th-9th Grade, 10th-12th Grade Poster Size: 11” X14” Due November 14th Bring your posters to your next club meeting!

Parish Nutrition Quiz Bowl Contest

October 7th, 1:00 PM, 4-H Office in Arcadia

Top 2 teams in the parish will move to the State Fair Nutrition Quiz Bowl! Form a team (3-4 Members) and STUDY! Get study guides from Ms. Liz or your 4-H Leader. Qualifying teams will get free tickets to the fair but you are responsible for transportation.

We are Wild About 4-H Camp

Camp was a “ball”! 4-H’ers made some wonderful memories and met lots of new friends. 4-H University

1,500 Louisiana 4-H’ers invaded LSU Campus for a week of contests, learning and dancing at the 98th annual 4-H University! Bienville Parish had five youth receive Blue Ribbons in their competition: Brittney Lea, Kaitlyn Lee, Holly Cox, Azariyah McClendon and Dawsson Tipton.
