SODEXO ORIGINAL RESEARCHIn 2017, Sodexo introduced 3 original pieces of research:

“Quality of Life Around the World: An Intercultural Introduction”The Sodexo Institute for Quality of LifeInspired by the round-the-world journey of Marie Desjars, a French expert in intercultural thinking, the purpose of this report is to shed light on Quality of Life around the world through an intercultural prism. In distilling the essence of 288 pages of insight that Marie gave us, our journey has been far less physically and emotionally challenging than hers but we also feel that we have traveled and now understand better what quality of life means to different people in different places.

“Gender Balance Study”Teams managed by a balanced mix of men and women are more successful across a range of measurements, according to a comprehensive study done by Sodexo. The three-year internal study of about 70 entities across different functions represents 50,000 managers worldwide. This study reaffirms Sodexo’s previous study in 2014 of 50,000 managers from 100 entities world-wide over a 3-year time frame.Gross profit, client retention, employee engagement, safety and brand awareness, among other key performance indicators, were all higher among teams that had gender balanced management – meaning a ratio between 40% - 60% women – versus those that did not. These results add a new, compelling dimension to a growing body of research that demonstrates the business benefits of gender equity.

“Aspirations of Gen Z”It is easy to assume that this new generation entering the workforce is simply an extension of the millennials, also known as Generation Y. However, labeling this new generation as merely young millennials is not only clumsy and facile but can lead to real misunderstandings in relation to their needs. This emerging generation views the world through a unique lens, based on perceptions about Quality of Life. This paper explores Generation Z through the Quality of Life lens, comparing and contrasting it with Generation Y.
