Bunco Night in the Valley Ladies, please join us at the Community Center the 1st Monday of each month!! We meet at 6:30 pm for food and the game starts at 7. The cost is $3.00. Bring a goodie, or a snack to share.

In case you don’t know what Bunco is, it is a dice game—not at all hard to learn, and you will get a chance to meet some of your neighbors.

This is on a “drop-in” basis, so if we don’t see you soon, we would love to have you join us whenever you can.

What I love about Fruit Valley The Fruit Valley Newsletter is about our community, and this is your newsletter.

Please share your thoughts and photos of what you love about our neighborhood. You can send pictures of sunsets, kids/dogs playing in your yard or the park, your great garden, or whatever else you love about our beautiful neighborhood. Send photos to Heather at [email protected]

We all will look forward to seeing and hearing from you for the upcoming newsletters.

The Fruit Valley Neighborhood Clean Up day has been scheduled for Saturday April 23rd. This will be a day to clean up our yards and toss out our garbage. All for free! Dumpsters provided by the city. We’ll be at the community center from 9 am to 2 pm. We will need volunteers to help support the event. Snacks and lunch provided for volunteers. If interested, Contact Karen McCallister at 360-695-5647.

This year our wood chipper will be on a separate day. We’ll be at the Community Center at 9 am on Saturday March 26th. Dispose of your large yard debris then.

Library maintenance

Look for Little Free Libraries in our community! Valley Visionaries have worked in partnership with Evergreen Habitat for Humanity to bring Little Free Libraries to the Fruit Valley neighborhood! Little Free Library is a nationwide initiative to promote literacy and the love of reading with increased access to books through libraries placed throughout a community. Little Free Libraries are “take a book, return a book” gathering places where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories with one another.

If you have any extra books or magazines and you’d like to share them, please feel free to add them to the library nearest you!

Hello everyone—hope you are getting around and utilizing the “little libraries” throughout the neighborhood. If you find some problem with the construction, i.e. broken hinge or something that needs attending to, please contact Dale @ [email protected] so he can take care of the issue and keep the little libraries in good reading order.

We are very fortunate to live in this great community of Fruit Valley. The Fruit Valley Foundation and the Fruit Valley Neighborhood Association Board of Directors work hard to keep programs going such as the neighbor-hood clean up, the spring garden fair, summer and Fall Festivals, pancake breakfasts, the monthly Ladies of the Valley get together, and so on. We would like to hear from you, and find out what other kinds of activities you would like to have here in our neighborhood. Below is a brief survey to give us a better sense of how we can continue to grow the bonds of our neighborhood:

1) What are a few things about this neighborhood that you love?

2) What are some of the activities that you and your family are involved with?

3) What, if any, kinds of things and activities would you like to see in our neighborhood?

4) Would you be interested in helping out to make these neighborhood activities a reality?

Please take a few minutes to fill this out. We will share the information in an upcoming newsletter.

You can drop this by the Fruit Valley Foundation Office (next to the Minit Mart) or

place them in the newsletter boxes below the little libraries.

We want to hear from you!
