Nothing is impossible Components for products of the future.
That is what Futura Composites
produces. As a specialist in fibre
reinforced composites, we are a reliable
partner for all manufacturers of products
for high-grade technical applications.
Futura Composites operates at the very highest technical level. We supply products of high-grade material according to unusual designs, which require extensive engineering work and are produced using highly advanced techniques. An extremely high delivery reliability complements the picture.
TechnologyWe produce components, but our main product is technology. Futura Composites offers solutions for the technological challenges encountered by specific clients. We do not supply standard but only tailor-made products. Each product we make requires some measure of innovation. That is why creativity is central to our working methods.
Futura Composites performs the entire production process in-house, from design and engineering to production and testing. For this reason, too, we can guarantee the very highest quality.
No challenge is too great Established in 1968, Futura Composites was one of the first composite manufacturers in the Netherlands. Since 2000 we are part of the Tesla Group. Our company consists of around 60 dedicated and expert employees. Futura Composites takes on challenges that others don’t dare to accept. For we believe that nothing is impossible.

Unparalleled propertiesAs the name indicates, a “composite” is when two or more different materials are combined to
create a superior and unique material. This is an extremely broad definition that holds true for all
composites. However, more recently the term “composite” is used to describe reinforced plastics.
Composite solutions are often superior to traditional materials. Using advanced composite design,
premium materials, bonding techniques and state-of-the-art production methods, virtually any
properties can be incorporated into a composite product.
Today, the advantages of using components and products that have been designed and produced
with composite materials – rather than using metals such as aluminium and steel – are clearly
recognised by many industries.
High stiffness and high strength to density ratioComposites can be designed to be much stronger than materialslikealuminiumorsteel.Metalsareequallystronginall directions, but composites can be engineered and designed to be strong in any given direction.Stiffness-to-density ratio refers to a material’s strength or stiffness in relation to how much it weighs. Some materials are very strong and heavy, for example steel. Other materials can be both strong and light, such as bamboo poles. Composite materialscanbedesignedtobestrongaswellaslight.Itisforthis reason that composites are used to build airplanes, as they require an extremely strong material but at the lowest possible weight. A composite can be made to resist bending in a certain direction, for example. When something is built using metal, and greater strength is required in one particular direction, the material usually needs to be made thicker, adding weight. Composites can be strong without being heavy. Composites have the highest strength-to-weight ratios in structures today.
Excellent formability / Design FlexibilityA further advantage of composites is their excellent formability. Composites can be moulded into complex shapes more easily than most other materials. This gives designers the freedom to create practically any shape or form. The surface of composites can furthermore be moulded to mimic any surface finish or texture, from smooth to pebbly.
Thermal and Dimensional stabilitySome composite materials will retain their shape and size, regardless of whether the conditions are hot or cool, wet or dry. Composites are often the preferred choice in situations demanding tight fits with no variance whatsoever. Another major advantage is that its thermal expansion can be designed to be basically zero. While a metal material expands when heated, carbon fibre composites retain their basic form. For projects requiring thermal stability, carbon fibre can provide a tremendous advantage.

Fiber-Line® is highly specialized in converting high performance
fibers for the Composite Industry. We work with a wide range of
fibers like fiberglass, Kevlar®, Vectran®, Dyneema® and carbon fibers.
In addition we are also working with high performance thermo-
plastic fibers like polypropylene, polyester, PPS and PEEK. Fiber-
Line® adds value to these yarns by winding, twisting, assembling
and combining these yarns. With applying thermoplastic coatings,
hotmelt coatings or extruded jackets we are able to further en-
hance the performance of these yarns in your application. For high
performance fibers, please contact Fiber-Line® – Knowledge Center
for Fiber Technology.

Good environmental resistance/ Durable Composites provide long-term resistance to extreme chemical and temperature environments. Composites are the material choice for outdoor exposure, chemical handling and severe environmental circumstances.Composite structures have an extremely long life span. Coupled with low maintenance requirements, the longevity of composites is a benefit when used in critical applications. After a half-century of use, many well-designed composite structures have yet to wear out.
Excellent fatigue enduranceComposite materials have an outstanding fatigue endurance in terms of the number of load cycles (many times higher than metals have) and residual fatigue strength (aramid and carbon epoxy laminates retain more than 60% of their residual static strength, which is far higher than any metal can provide.)
LightweightComposite materials are incredibly lightweight, especially compared to materials like concrete, metal and wood.Structures of much less weight that nevertheless achieve the same or even better performance, augment the competitive advantage for both users and suppliers. Not surprisingly, composite materials’ lightweight is frequently the decisive argument in markets primarily concerned for operational costs and higher efficiency.
Non-magnetic and non-conductiveComposites are non-conductive, meaning that they do not conduct electricity. On the other hand, if electrical conductivity is needed, some composite materials can be made conductive.Composites do not contain any metals, and therefore they are not magnetic. This means that they can be used in the vicinity of sensitive electronic equipment. The lack of magnetic interference for example allows largemagnetsinMRI(magneticresonanceimaging) equipment to perform better.
Radar –X ray – RF Transparent CompositeshaveexcellentRAMfeatures(Radarabsorbingmaterials).Itisalsopossible to make special laminates which are transparent for radar and sonar. Structures can betailoredtoprovideRFtransparency,butcanalsobemadeRF-reflective.CarbonfibreisX-raytransparent,whichcan be a highly significant property in many markets, but especially for medical equipment.
