Although we try our best to include as much information as we can about the partnerships that we have on-going and the
projects that we are involved in, we are restricted by space so please don’t be disappointed if it appears that we have not
included you - we will endeavor to be as fair as possible in the way that we include your information so if for whatever reason

Roll Up, Roll Up!
FITC Media are thrilled to bring you our July ‘In the Community’ Newsletter. So much has been going on in and
around our community such as School Fetes, Scarecrow Trails, Fun Days, Open Days; its hard to cover it all in our
monthly newsletter alone (although our Diary Dates page does a great job!), which is where our Facebook page also
comes into its own; Anyone who has not yet had the pleasure, please visit @inthecommunitymedialtd where you’ll
find how important it us to us that we support as many local causes as we can with regional promotions, Likes and
Shares and we’re hugely grateful for the support that we get in return, so thank you to everyone that does like-wise.
Another objective of ours is to support local businesses, we read so much about ways in which we can support the
High Street and we see so many people coming together with the same goal. See how our on-line Premium
Business Directory for Wiltshire and Somerset provides local companies with a low-cost platform to promote their
services www.fundraisinginthecommunity.com (Business Page) and the additional exposure that we provide in
conjunction with a Directory Listing such as our ‘Welcome’ posts and regular social media ‘Shout Outs’; we want to
see businesses grow and our community thrive. As well as local businesses, we strive to support local good causes
with exposure through our social media site, website and newsletter and we help their fundraising efforts through
local business partnerships and campaigns such as our Hi-Five campaign for example (recently launched – see
page 10 for more details) and our bespoke packages. We also offer a free design service for anyone who needs it as
well as newsletter and e-campaigns for both businesses and fundraisers alike. ..Speaking of Campaigns, we’re
hugely excited about an up and coming campaign that we’ll be running in association with JOHN LAWSON’S
CIRCUS which will again support local businesses and good causes on top of offering discounted tickets for dates
in September (we’ll bring you more on this next month – we cant wait!) So all in all, we hope you find our efforts
valuable as we love what we do and we love working with you. If there is anything that we can do to help your
business or good cause then please get in touch, as we’d love to speak with you. Until then : )

Business of the Month…
…and HOOP CAMP for SCHOOLS!
The media is very quick to promote the ideal image, both for boys and girls. Mental health and general well-being can quite often be overlooked, when in many cases, this is the starting point for motivating to succeed. Hula Hoops are most often associated with children and childhood games, but they can be just as much fun for teens/young adults. Hooping promotes an array of positive outcomes, from developing core strength through to building confidence which can be directly taken back into the classroom and their own personal lives. The main objective of each session is to ensure that all pupils participate in an activity that is fun! Learning new physical skills can have a huge impact within the classroom and beyond.
Teaching in Schools/Colleges In January 2018, Emma was approached by Long Meadow School in Trowbridge and Wiltshire College to deliver HoopCamp to pupils. This is now an area that HoopCamp is looking to develop and recently, North Bradley Primary School have confirmed their participation in the HoopCamp Programme during the school day. Emma can offer personalised and progressive sessions, engaging all pupils in regular physical activity, HoopCamp's aim is to inspire, develop and engage young people to look at exercise in a fun way and not as a lesson to be performed and to be involved in a form of exercise that is fun, practical and achievable for all. Emma is currently working with Key Stage 1 and 2 students in the primary schools, as well as
students at Wiltshire college. Her work at Wiltshire college being the most rewarding to date as
she understands what challenges these students are facing, and she can relate to them as
individuals. To see them engage and have fun is so rewarding for her as an instructor. The project
at Wiltshire college is Sports England funded, and is aimed at tackling inactivity in colleges.
Emma and the college have found that the project is without doubt a great success. Groups who
have taken part in the project have reported that ‘being involved in physical activity has helped
them to develop confidence, increase self- esteem and improved their inter-personal skills’ Quote
taken from Term One report from Sport England.
Emma Hibberd – Background Upon leaving school, Emma studied Sport and Development and A Level Biology at college. Once completed, she embarked on a career in the leisure industry. At 17, Emma began working for West Wiltshire District Council based at the leisure centre in Trowbridge. At this time, Emma's focus was upon teaching pre-school trampolining and helping run school holiday activities, which included the organisation of Birthday Parties that involved numerous fun activities. Having completed RSA Exercise to Music at 18, Emma taught all the aerobic classes at Trowbridge Leisure Centre. At 21, she became self-employed, still teaching for West Wiltshire District Council but now adding in her own private sessions. Emma had her daughter in October 1999, returning to teaching in January 2000 then continued to gain a qualification and subsequent membership with Zumba and other Personal training Instructor Courses. Emma quickly came to realize the market was now becoming flooded with various Zumba classes and decided to look for something new. In conversation with a friend who was looking to increase her core fitness, the idea of 'Hooping' was born. Emma began hooping, which was not an easy task to begin with but through perseverance Emma felt confident to create her own sessions. In January 2015 HoopCamp was launched with great success, and the classes still run with waiting lists. HoopCamp has developed in to a low impact high intensity session, with the main emphasis being 'having fun whilst exercising'.

Darren's London Marathon FITC Media has recently brought you Carmela’s Campaign (Stand Up To Muscular Dystrophy)
and all that this wonderful little girl has achieved. Well, Now it’s over to Dad! (Go Darren!) We’ll
look forward to bringing you the latest…
Well I've only gone and done it. I am so excited to say that I have officially been offered a place in next year's London Marathon. Now most of you know that I may not yet be in Tip-Top physical condition. Okay I'm fat and quite frankly embarrassingly get puffed out just walking to the COOP to buy a sausage roll. I have just under 10 months now to not only lose the belly but get in condition to do the marathon. Having a driving job as a career doesn't help but I'm determined to stop the excuses and do it. I'm doing it for 3 reasons. Firstly, I've always wanted to do a marathon - actually get off my butt and do it. Secondly, as Carmela's disease progresses she will need so much more help. Help lifting her up and carrying her. Getting fit will be a huge bonus in doing that. Lastly, to raise money to help find a cure. At the moment there is nothing to even slow it down. My little girls’ disease can take her away from us at any time. Tomorrow, next month, next year - or if we're really lucky, 10 years. The only thing we can do is just try and keep her mobile for as long as possible. I'm not embarrassed to say that every single day I feel sick in the pit of my stomach or just start crying as I find it all just so overwhelming. So, who can help me? I need to raise at least £2000 and to lose 60lbs! Please follow the link to donate to my 'go fund me' page or take me out and be a personal trainer for the day! So thank you for reading, please feel free to give me any tips or ideas to raise money and even any funny/ motivational photos, videos or links
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Thanks again!
