Every JDRF Champion advocates, supports and fights for T1D cures and advancements. In 2019, the Champions listed in these pages helped fund the critical work that allowed JDRF to achieve progress in research, advocacy and outreach. Their commitment inspired commercial investments in T1D.

Extraordinary research progress was made in 2019, including the approval of Teplizumab, a drug that can delay the onset of T1D by at least two years, and the ongoing effort to create insulin-producing beta cells that the body won’t reject. Progress in advocacy was seen in the continued strong bipartisan support for federal funding of T1D research through the Special Diabetes Program. We continued to support and engage the entire T1D community through outreach to newly diagnosed families; education programs for health care professionals; and local fundraising events that united more than 1 million families.

None of this progress would have been possible without your significant support. Thank you once again for continuing to champion our collective cause.
