7% of the SCI, 5,900 ha, is comprised of 2 priority dry
grassland habitats
o 6210* Semi-natural dry grasslands and scrubland
facies on calcareous substrates (Festuco-
Brometalia) with important orchid sites
o 6240* Sub-Pannonic steppic grasslands.

have the confidence to apply
flexible approach to small-scale
producers
Booklet with clear information for farmers,
producers and for food inspectors
Now used by hygiene authorities as a
standard document in Romania.
Impact: better links between hygiene
authorities and small-scale producers.
Small-scale producers can continue
to operate under more flexible
approach from hygiene inspectors.

Impact of land cover homogenization on the Corncrake
(Crex crex) in traditional farmland

Conclusions
Our findings show the high conservation value of traditional
heterogeneous farmland for the Corncrake. Therefore, to
protect the Corncrake in traditional farmland, pro-active
policy measures should encourage the continuation of
mixed farming practices to maintain a diversity of land covers.
