The Gift that Keeps on Giving On Monday afternoon (January 4) I came home to a surprise. A very large box was sitting on my front porch. When I opened it, I found a note from my sister explaining that the multiple gifts inside the large box were Christmas presents from her and my brother-in-law, who live in Maryland. Monday night Linda and I opened the surprise presents. It was like Christmas had come to our house all over again. What fun! Five different gifts had been personally chosen, beautifully wrapped, and then shipped inside a big box Priority Mailto our front doorstep. When I texted Connie to thank her, she was a bit embarrassed. She texted back: Oh my!! We mailed them a couple of weeks before Christmas!! Crazy slow US mail. Happy belated…!! No complaints here. Who wouldnt love Christmas to come more than one time a year? Actually, Christmas comes every day with God. On December 25 we celebrate the incarnation, God coming to us in the flesh. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). But that is only the beginning. Once we receive the gift of eternal life, we get to open more presents every day of the year. God sends us brand new gifts of forgiveness, patience, comfort, and grace-- whatever we need for each day. Gods presents come to us in different packages, but they are always personally selected for each of His children. His compassions never fail. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness (Lam. 3:22-23). As we walk into 2021, dont forget that through Christ, God provides the gift that keeps on giving. We can count on His faithfulness to provide whatever we may need for the journey ahead. Faith of Our Fathers: Old Testament Lessons on Prayer

    January 6, 20, 27 & February 3

    6:30 pm

Dr. Clipp will guide us in a unique Bible study that focuses on the personal prayers of key leaders in the Old Testament. By studying these prayers, we gain deep insight into the spiritual lives of Abraham, Moses, Solomon, and Daniel. These prayers also help us to see how we can cultivate an intimate relationship with God. A time of prayer will follow the study with our ZOOM participants.

JESUS IS THE PROMISED MESSIAH WHO BRINGS JUDGEMENT.

Bob Ebeling and four other colleagues sounded a warning note on January 27, 1986. As one of the engineers on the space shuttle Challenger, Ebeling and his colleagues came to the conviction that the tempera-ture would lead to an explosion. Those above him ignored the warnings and proceeded with the ill-fated launch. Most of us have ignored warning signs too. John the Baptist sounded the warning call; some heeded his warning, and others ignored it.

Hope you can join us Sunday for Sunday School.
