Final ExamReflective Essay
To reflect on what I learned during this twelve-week ENF2 Class, I would confidently
say that nowthanks to Professor NaquinI am a better reader, a critical thinker, a more
confident writer, and, definitely, I embrace my future with open arms and great attitude. To give
specifics about my learning experience in this class, I will share with you three main points: First
point is about my reading skills. The second is about writing skills. Then the third point; about
the well-selected material, and the tireless efforts of Professor Naquin, who successfully engaged
all of us; and truly transformed our way of thinking.
Before this class, I had no difficulty reading any topic or article and deeply understanding
the core message of the writer; especially, that I have the habit of consulting my dictionary quite
so often and checking the meaning of the unfamiliar vocabulary items. However, I have to say
that through this class I have truly developed critical thinking skills that enabled me to be more
aware of the writers crafts, their patterns of Organization, their purposes, and their tones, which
reveal their feelings and inclination towards issues, and also their objectivity.
As for WRITING, I need to say it was just an equivalent of a nightmare for me. I used to
have tons of ideas in my head, yet, I never knew how or where to start. To do an assignment, I
used to stay for hours, writing and re-writing the first few sentences of my first paragraph; tens
of timesYet, I was never satisfied with what I had, and I used to start all over again. It was a
very frustrating and time-consuming task. Then, my ENF2 Class started, and among other things,
my professor guided me to few pages in our text book, and few links to articles, and other related
websites; and that was the needed remedy for my chronic writing difficulty. I learned about the

third example of her personalized attention and sincere support; it was sent to my personal email:
Congratulations! You have been doing good work Well done!(Naquin). As American writer
and poet Mark Van Doren once said, "The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery."
(American Education Week), and that is exactly what Professor Debbie Naquin did. Thanks to
her guidance, mentoring, and rich knowledge, she has effectively assisted us discover our hidden
capabilities.
Finally, to conclude, I can confidently emulate Mr. Abbott in Voices and Values, page
303. As I look back over the past twelve weeks, I see all the things that have happened to make
me learn, how to fine tune my ideas, improve my writing, and embrace life with confidence.
(abbott). At the end of this ENF 2 Class, I possess better reading techniques, effective writing
tools, and a great attitude towards life in general. For me, now, the skys the limit.
