Fun First Day at Kindergarten CRESSY DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL
Meet our Kindergarten children who were very excited on their first day of school.
From the Principal
It is my pleasure to welcome back everyone, especially
our new staff and families.
Building works tenders close later this month and after
that time we will have more details about the
establishment of Year 11/12 classrooms and the
redevelopment of the Year 7/8 and Office areas.
The School Operational Plan 2016 aims to build on the
great education which has been provided by Cressy over a
number of years. Focus areas will include: Behaviour
Support, Curriculum Development (including Literacy and
Numeracy), Community Engagement and Good Teaching
and Learning Practice. Further information will be
provided as progress occurs.
The work of staff has been appreciated in organising the
school for students return and getting the year started.
Upcoming Events
An Open Afternoon will be held on Thu March 3
3.30 - 6.30 pm. All parents/ guardians are invited. More
details will be provided closer to the date.
An Induction Assembly for our Student Leaders will be
held in late March. More details will be provided closer to
the event.
Esk Band
Esk Band information will be available from class teachers
or the office in the near future, hopefully by Fri Feb 12.
Forms and required payments need to be returned by Feb
23. This is an optional activity for Grade 3-6 students
which occurs during school time.
Uniform
Students are to be congratulated on the excellent
standard of uniform. Thank you to families for their
efforts in preparing students for school.
Our policy requires students to have plain black shoes
with no other colours visible. In some instances students
have shoes which are mostly black but with some
variations. After speaking to students we realise that
families genuinely tried to get the correct shoes and this is
appreciated. Students in this situation have been noted
and in the circumstances their footwear will be accepted.
However, we ask that when new shoes are purchased
they are plain black.
Any families requiring further information or having
difficulty in this area are encouraged to contact the
school.
I look forward to an exciting and productive year.

Trespassing and Vandalism at the Farm
Recently our school farm has been entered and a large
amount of damage to buildings and equipment has been
made by a person or people. There has also been
numerous items stolen including grain and fertiliser.
This is extremely unfortunate and disappointing as we
work very hard on maintaining this area as a unique
learning environment for our students and whole school
community.
The Police have been notified and will be patrolling our
school and following up on any leads from our
community.
If you can assist us in any way please contact the school
office on 63976281 or contact the Police on 131444.

Carpark Safety
(Leila Frankcombe Drive)
A reminder to parents that for the safety of pedestrians
the driveway is to be used for vehicles only (5kmph).
Pedestrians can access the school via the driveway which
runs alongside the Groundsperson’s/ Maintenance Shed
or from the Main Street.
We encourage parents to remind their children of this
information, as our duty of care to our students is for
them to be able to arrive and leave school as safely as
possible.
Thank you for your support and co-operation
