Why Fume Extraction?

Manyworkenvironmentstoday,includingsoldering,adhesives,weldingandlaserappli-cations,createparticlesandgasesthatcanbeharmfultotheworkplaceandtheenvironment.Mostpeoplethoughtthatthemovetolead-freesolderingwouldbemorenaturefriendly.Inrealitylead-freesolderingsmokeemissionscontainmorebreathablefinedustparticles.Moreandsmallerparticlesareproducedduetothehigherworkingtemperaturesrequiredandbecausemorefluxisusedinthesolderingprocess.

Inmanycountrieslegalregulationsgover-ningcleanairintheworkplacerequirethathazardoussubstancesareremovedfromtheairinordertoavoidharmfuleffectsonpeopleandmachines.

Itisimportanttousethecorrectsafetyequip-menttoremovethesehazardoussubstances.Fineparticlesaremoredangeroustoinhalethanbigparticlesastheygetcaughtmoreeasilyandblockthealveoliinthelungs.

To protect the operator it is important to use an extraction system that is able to se-parate these particles and gases and then re-circulates the cleaned air back into the work place. This saves energy and reduces energy costs.

Weller®Zero-Smog®Systemshaveathree stage filter systemforremovingsmallparticles,fumesandgasesthatareproducedindifferentworkingprocesses:
