Farm Aid 2016 Farm Aid 2016 was held Saturday, September 17th at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, Virginia. The concert attendance was 20,000. Concert-goers enjoyed a day of music, HOMEGROWN Concessions®, HOMEGROWN Village and sponsor interactions. The HOMEGROWN Village was as crowded as ever with more than 30 farm and food organizations participating. The event delivered 1,151,230,357+ overall media impressions from print, online & broadcast media hits. Farm Aid reached more than 8,643,370+ fans on social media via Twitter and Instagram from announcement through September 21, 2016.

THE ARTISTS |The concert featured performances by Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews — with Tim Reynolds — as well as Alabama Shakes, Sturgill Simpson, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Jamey Johnson with special guest appearance by Alison Krauss, Margo Price, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Insects vs Robots, Ian Mellencamp and Star Swain.

EMAIL | Farm Aid shared sponsors with its 80,000 members.

SOCIAL MEDIA |Farm Aid’s social media rallied support for the event and created impressions for sponsors. Over 8.6 million people were reached through Farm Aid’s social media platforms.

#ROAD2FarmAid | Farm Aid continued the success of our #Road2FarmAid social media campaign, building excitement for Farm Aid 2016 and allowing everyone to share how they are part of family farm agriculture. The campaign greatly expanded exposure for Farm Aid and its mission. 845 users shared

PRESS EVENT | Farm Aid 2016 kicked off a press event on the main stage attended by 132 members of the media. Speakers included Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and Dave Matthews. The press event presented family farm and food issues with rousing presentations and video components, offering a deeper understanding for the audience of press, farmers, activists, artists and sponsors.

PR | Farm Aid 2016 received significant local, regional and national media coverage. The stories promoted the entertainment value of the concert, as well as Farm Aid’s message about family farms and food. Nearly every story about the concert included information about HOMEGROWN Concessions®, the HOMEGROWN Village and the family farmers in attendance. Sponsors were featured in three press releases. HOMEGROWN Concessions® | Farm Aid’s own HOMEGROWN Concessions® were served throughout the venue, serving good food from family farms, with an ecological standard and a fair price to farmers. In our post-event survey, 87% knew that all the food at Farm Aid 2016 was HOMEGROWN and 85% indicated they ate food at the concert. Farm Aid sourced family farm food for its HOMEGROWN Catering backstage and at the VIP area, thanks to many in-kind food donors and sponsors.
