    Brief Description _________ __ ________

    Diffusion Mode/Premix Mode

    The burner can function with natural gas either as a diffusion burner or as a premix burner. It can be operated as a diffusion burner from start up to 86 % base load when it is switched over th the premix mode forthe upper load range. This avoids the necessity to switch off any burners.

    Changeover is controlled by the subloop controls "sic fuel gas hybridbumer MBP 20 EE 001" at a specified turbine outlet temperature and by a run up controller t = 20 s.

    In premix operation adding of fuel oil is not allowable. First the burners must be changed to diffusion operation (load rejection) and the sic hybridburner must be switched off before fuel changeover or mixedoperation can be started.

    Mixed Operation

    The gas turbines can be fired both with liquid and with gaseous fuel. Any mixture ratios of gas to oil canbe steplessly adjusted at the local control station and can be implemented by the control system.

    The mixture ratio is taken as the ratio of volumentric flows, determined for control engineering purposesby the ratio of the lifts of the gas and oil control valves. The lift setpoints for the two gas/oil lift controllerstogether make the total lift setpoint which is determined either by the speed/load controller or by temperature controller.

    The fuel proportion is specified to the gas turbine controller and supplies a proportion (ANT) from0...100 % referred to the fuel oil.

    To ensure unambiguous rations on start up, it is specified (and implemented in the control system) thatonly one fuel may be used for start up (operator panel start up gas/oil).

    Mixed fuel operations is allowed in the load range between 20 % base load and peak load.
