RULES

The following is a list of rules that will govern our 2013 Talent Show. All participants are to adhere to all of the followingrules! There will be NO EXCEPTIONS! All decisions of the Talent Show Committee are final.

1. There will be four grade ranges of competition with awards going to the top three winners in each range. Theranges of competition are: Kindergarten through Grade 2, Grades 3 through 5, Grades 6 through 8, and Grades 9through 12. When an act consists of more than one participant, the act must perform at the level of the highest(eldest) participant in the group. Applicants are limited to one (1) performance.

2. Onlystudents residing in Ewing Township qualify for entrance, regardless of the school they attend - publicorprivate.

3. All applications must be submitted to the Administration Building, 2099 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ 08618 byNovember 30, 2012. INCOMPLETE OR LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

4. You will be contacted to participate in a Talent Show audition and a dress rehearsal (dates, place and time to bedetermined). PLEASE NOTE: This is an audition &contestants will be selected based upon judges' approval.Applicants must be accompanied by a supervising adult who will remain in the audience. The audition and dressrehearsal are mandatory. [Parents/guardians are not allowed in the backstage area.]

5. You must adhere to the application you submitted that describes your performance and attire. Any deviation fromthe application will result in disqualification.

6. Proper attire is an absolute MUST. All acts must be stage-ready. Props and costumes will be reviewed forappropriateness at time of audition and must not be changed for final performance. Nothing is to be thrown fromthe stage. Program photos will be taken during audition.

7. Your performance may include singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, playing in a band or anycombination of the above, along with such things as comedy, poetic reading, magic, etc. It is important to notethat all performances should be geared to FAMILY TYPE ENTERTAINMENT and that improper language orcontent of act are unacceptable.

8. Your performance will be limited to only FOUR MINUTES. Contestants will supply their own music (CDsonly) with one song per CD. Singers must have only instrumental CDs with absolutely no lead vocals.Musicians are not permitted to perform with a CD. All CDs must be performance-ready. These rules willbe strictly enforced.

9. Sorry: In the best interests of the participants, NO CAMERAS OR VIDEO EQUIPMENT will be permitted duringthe performances.

10. The final performance shall be taped and aired on cable TV and, as such, all finalists and their parents must signand submit the release form on the back of the application. Professional videos and photos will be available forpurchase.

11. All participants and attendees must act responsibly and be on their best behavior at all times.

12. Those participants who are selected for the Final Show MUST ATTEND ALL REHEARSALS AND PRACTICESprior to the FINALCONTEST. Time, date and location to be determined. (Failure to attend will eliminate youfrom the contest.)

13. The following are the criteria from which all contestants will be judged: stage presence, creativity, costuming,originality, overall performance and technique. American ExpressGift Certificates will be awarded to 1st ($500),2ncr($300) and 3rd ($200) place winners in each grade range.
