On 02/10/14 XJO October index (ASX SPI 200) was trading at $5290. We executed an iron condor (15 contracts per client) by buying a OCT 5000 put for $74, writing a OCT 5075 put for $118, writing another OCT 5500 call for $48 and buying another OCT 5575 call for $22. The net credit received when entering the trade was $70 per contract or $1,050 per 15 contracts, which is also our maximum possible profit.

If on expiration in October (16/10/2014), XJO index is between $5,075 and $5,500, all the 4 options will expire worthless and we will get to keep the entire credit received as profit.

If XJO index is instead trading at $ 5000 on expiration, all the options except the OCT 5075 put sold will expire worthless. The OCT 5075 put has an intrinsic value of $750. This option has to be bought back to exit the trade. Thus, subtracting your initial $70 credit received, the options trader suffers your maximum possible loss of $680. The same situation will occur if the price at expiration is above $5575.

Page 10: FS Securities Trades (new) · 2014-10-14 · FS Securities Trades (please see explanation at the back page) Australia & New Zealand Banking Group Ltd (ANZ) 14/10/14 Our strategy:

NOTE: FS Securities Picks are presented as suggestions only and may or may not be trades

undertaken by FS Securities. We present several strategies, namely for Investors (a long time

trades) and for traders (shorter periods). For the latter, traders may be different in their risk

appetite. Some traders are more aggressive than other traders. We highly recommends to

understand your style before trading and never to trade with money you cannot afford to lose.

NOTE: Monthly charts are analysed only at month end. Weekly charts are only analysed at week

end. Intra-week updates are mainly related to aggressive traders. Conservative traders rely on 5

signals out of the 8GB in each of the weekly and the daily before trading. Aggressive traders still

rely on the weekly and the daily but with only 4 signals out of the 8GB. Very aggressive traders rely

only on the daily charts (last period signal against other daily signals). In both conservative and

aggressive traders the exponential Moving Averages of the indicators are used rather than just one

day signal. One daily signal will push us in and out too frequently.

Our subscribers get a weekly and an update several times during the week. If you wish to subscribe,

please call us or visit our website: fssecurities.com.au. Please note that the weekly analysis is

updated on the weekend in additions to daily updates.

OUR MESSAGE: Do not rely on your emotions but be mechanical - that is look for indicators and be

consistent. We use Technical analysis with 7 indicators that we have researched over many years,

look for harmony between them and use them consistently.

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE? If interested, send us your details and we will teach you how to

trade mechanically. Whilst we do not dismiss fundamental analysis, we are predominantly

technical analysts and our experience tell us that they are more readily available and more

"honest" and produce about 60-75% success rate if followed with discipline and with a risk

management strategy that we teach.
