Galations 5:22-23 “But the Holy spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

Joy and peace is in my heart as i think of YoU, the people of the community and our generous donors. Thank you for your continued support of Heart to Heart. YoU allow the staff of Heart to Heart to minister to those who walk in our door and see each and every person as someone to whom we can show God’s love – a love that says, “i know everything about you, the mistakes you’ve made, the struggles you have, and i love you anyway.” This is called unconditional love. We have experienced that love from God in our lives, and joyfully share that love with others.

Your prayers and assistance give Heart to Heart the opportunity to serve the men and women in our area who find themselves in crisis situations. Those in crisis situations find it extremely hard to take responsibility for their decisions. Many times, the partner of the pregnant woman will avoid making any decision by telling her that it’s her choice. As a result, she feels less free to decide and may default to an abortion, thinking that it will eliminate the need for further decisions. Both parties do not realize, however, that their lack of decision is a decision in itself. They passively allow life to control them, instead of taking control of their lives.

When young adolescents first meet our nurses they express that their lives are out of balance. They are living with constant inner turmoil; they have no peace in their lives. They have little value for themselves and have tragically bought into the lie that they are destined for defeat. We empower them through unconditional love. We give them the tools they need to make change a reality and help them discover that they have purpose in their lives while giving them hope.

We give our clients a sense of accomplishment and purpose. We show them that they can achieve and complete a task, giving them confidence. it is vitally important that they become aware that they have value - that they are worth loving - which in turn allows them to love others, including, their unborn baby. This new-found love for their child frees them to make a more informed decision about that child – perhaps adoption or parenting.

We have the privilege to show people that through Jesus Christ there is healing for past mistakes, and hope for their future. We demonstrate that through Jesus Christ their mistakes are not faults to regret, but opportunities to learn and grow. in Jesus’ power they can take control of their destiny, make wise decisions, and live with joy and peace in their heart.

The baby bottle campaign was extra special as Alice Kay Arnett donated her time and talent once again this year to create a beautiful quilt called, “in the Garden.” Mother’s Day 2013 was a special day for susan Kay. Roni presented the quilt to her at Zion Lutheran Church that morning as she was the lucky winner. Thank you to all the churches and businesses, and individuals that participated in the baby bottle campaign. Your hard work and effort raised $13,470.90.

Dear Friends at Heart to Heart, My husband and I are writing this letter to express our deep gratitude to Heart to Heart, along with some of our experiences as clients at this wonderful center. There are very few places in the world where the hand of God is a tangible thing, and Heart to Heart pregnancy center is one of those places. My husband and I have been to Heart to Heart on numerous occasions, the first being when we found out about our daughter. Paul and I had only been married for about a month and a half when we found out that we were expecting our daughter. Having just taken on the title of husband and wife we were excited, scared, anxious, and in awe that we were going to be parents!

Our first experience at Heart to Heart is something we will never forget. The warm welcome at the pregnancy center was not at all the “doctor’s office” or “ laboratory” experience we were expecting. The office staff was warm and inviting, offering us both bottles of water and smiles to go along with it. We were very at home. Within a few minutes the ultrasound technician greeted us in the waiting area (loaded with kids toys, informative pamphlets, and plenty of encouraging artwork), and took us to her office where we learned about the process and what an ultrasound was. We were so blessed to find out that it was a free service that would check for some basic things to indicate a healthy child. Also everything done in the clinic was absolutely confidential. We proceeded to the ultrasound room where we were lucky enough to see our daughter at the peanut size of seven weeks gestation. Talk about understanding the love of Jesus on a whole new level. An entirely new creation up on the screen for us to see! The nurse was calm and encouraging, telling us what she was looking at in each picture, and giving us a copy of the ultrasound afterwards. We then said a prayer together and read a Bible verse contributing to the excitement of this new child.

Heart to Heart was able to offer our new little family a myriad of services that we would not have had access to otherwise. We were offered parenting classes, ultrasound to confirm pregnancy, emotional support, and most of all spiritual support. The staff at Heart to Heart rallied around our family with prayer and love, enveloping us in positivity for this new journey called parenthood. The center itself is clean, warm, welcoming, and most of all Christ centered!! From the decorations on the wall, to the pamphlets on the desk, to the Bible verses and parenting classes, we were so blessed to have a pregnancy center like this one in Laramie. In a world that perhaps doesn’t appreciate and value life the way it ought to, its amazing to have an opportunity to see your child for the first time via ultrasound. Our experience was so positive that when we found out we were expecting our second, our first phone call was to set up an appointment with our friends at Heart to Heart! Thankyou! The services at Heart to Heart are something we pray Laramie is never without.

Anti-PRC Legislation Introduced in U.S. CongressA federal bill targeting Pregnancy Resource Centers and Medical Clinics (PRC/PRMC) was introduced in both the United states senate and House of Representatives on May 16, 2013. (H.R. 2030 and s. 981) The almost identical bills, are both entitled “stop Deceptive Advertising for Women’s services Act.” introduced by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D- nY), with 18 co-sponsors in the House; and by senator Robert Menendez (D-nJ), with 2 co-sponsors in the senate, the bills direct the Federal Trade Commission to prescribe rules prohibiting deceptive advertising of abortion services.

At first glance, you might think that these bills were inspired to stop Gosnell-type butchers from luring vulnerable women into their Houses of Horrors. no. The bill is introduced by those who have been silent about the Gosnell murders and instead of speaking out against such atrocities intend to harass PRCs and PRMCs.

When introducing the bill, Rep. Mahoney stated: n “…there are some centers that deliberately misinform or mislead women seeking information on family planning

services. Called Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs), they pose as sources of unbiased pregnancy counseling, using deceptive propaganda to dissuade women from considering comprehensive birth-control options or legal abortion. Fake reproductive health clinics entice women with unintended pregnancies through their doors under the pretense of providing the full range of reproductive options and services.”

n “Deception has no place when a woman is seeking information about her pregnancy. Working together we can help stop the fraud and confusion these Crisis Pregnancy Centers are perpetrating on the women of America.”

niFLA has been closely tracking this legislation. H.R. 2030 was sent to the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and s. 981 was referred to the Committee on Commerce, science, and Transportation. While we believe from past experience with bills of this type that it is highly unlikely that these bills will move forward successfully, we must still let our voices be heard:

1. Contact your U.s. Representative and senators and tell them to oppose H.R. 2030 and s. 981. To find your Representative’s and senator’s office phone numbers call the Us Capitol switchboard at 1-202-224-3121.

Heart to Heart is Growing

i am so thankful for the opportunity to use my nursing degree here at Heart To Heart to help clients in an additional way when needed! To start with, i will

be attending a basic course in Limited obstetrical Ultrasound June 6-8 in Colorado springs, Co. This course is provided through niFLA (national institute of Family and Life Advocates) and will be held at the Focus on the Family campus. i will continue to do my part as front desk receptionist, but eventually will fill in as an R.n. when needed. i am also currently receiving excellent training with Heart To Heart’s long-standing nurses, Janet and Debbie. As a non-profit Christian medical clinic, the nurses here provide pregnancy testing, limited ultrasounds, lay counseling and referral to other resources in the community. We are very blessed to have a local M.D. partner with us and provide his professional services by reading and reporting on each ultrasound done here.

We consider the ultrasounds that are done here at Heart To Heart to be THE onE most important event that can and does change the mind of a woman who is “abortion-determined” or “abortion-minded”! it is truly a special moment with spiritual significance when a woman sees her tiny baby’s body with moving arms and legs. The mother sees the baby moving but realizes that she can’t even feel it yet. she sees the heart beating so clearly, strongly and regularly; her eyes widen in amazement and there may even be a few tears. The nurses here have often seen this as the turning point when the pregnant woman acknowledges the miracle of life within her and decides she cannot end that life.

What an honor and privilege it is to be a part of this process!

Best Wishes to Stacyover the last three years i have truly enjoyed my time working at Heart to Heart. The ministry of Heart to Heart is incredible with the way they reach out to women and men in our community who find themselves in a difficult situation. They hear the truth at Heart to Heart and nothing shows more care and love than the truth. i started volunteering at Heart to Heart once a week as a receptionist. i learned so much about what the ministry does and how they do it. i also started meeting with clients in the Earn While You Learn program. it was such a blessing to me to see the young women i met with grow and mature.

While volunteering, i was expecting my first child and after she was born, the position of Donor Development Director became available. in this position i learned more about the ministry of Heart to Heart and how all of the fundraising events as well as how the donors provide a way for the ministry to exist. it was exciting to watch the Lord work at all of our fundraising events and provide above and beyond all that we could ever ask.

As the ministry continues to grow, the need for a staff member that could attend many evening and weekend social events has evolved. With my young and growing family, the new requirements are going to make it very difficult to fulfill my calling as a mother that God has given me. i will not be working at Heart to Heart but i will continue to pray for and support the ministry of Heart to Heart. i am excited for this next chapter of my life and for what God has in store. i am also excited about the next chapter for Heart to Heart and how God will continue to use this ministry to further His Kingdom.

Lost and Found

Heart to Heart TestimonialMy fiancé and i started attending the Earn as You Learn classes at Heart to Heart when i was four months pregnant. We had recently decided to go through with the pregnancy, and were in desperate need of guidance in becoming new parents. The education and staff at Heart to Heart have been an essential part of our family. our daughter, Lucy Mae, was born on March 21, 2012. she is a beautiful, healthy, and happy little girl thanks to the education provided by the Heart to Heart staff. We have recently moved from Laramie, but are still in contact with the center. The time that i spent with the staff at Heart to Heart has truly changed my life.

They not only blessed me with the education I needed to raise my daughter, but also guided me to a path of salvation and a relationship with God.

i do not come from a religious family or background. i have always been interested in learning about Christianity. However, it has been difficult for me to attend church, as i am often viewed as an outsider. When i arrived at Heart to Heart everything changed. i was never judged for my lack of faith, instead i was welcomed and encouraged to learn. The lessons on childcare provided a vehicle for learning about how the Lord graces us with guidance, answers, and salvation. The Lord has blessed my life by guiding me to Heart to Heart. The wonderful friendships that i found there will impact my life and my family. i pray that Heart to Heart is able to impact others in the same way.
