DEVELOPMENT
Rensis is the name of a unique rotary enigine which was invented by Mazda. I took the name and created a logo for it, turning it into a company that specialises, creates and sells rotary enigines. While making this logo I took the diagram of the rotary enigine and used that a the symbol for the logo. The typeface was something I quickly made to see how it would look but it turned out the typeface was an original idea. The way I designed this typoface was by only using a rectangles to sculpt out the letter and by using vertical or horizontal lines (No diagonal lines). The hardest letters was V and X only because the V could look like a U which I didn’t want and the X, well it was hard not using diagonal lines while trying to not make it look like pixelated art.

JAPANESE ART
Pg.5/13
Within this genre, I have used a unique colour palette to create the illusion of Japanese art. To further develop this illusion I have incorporated the symbolic elements to capture the beauty of Japan.
JAPANESE ART
Pg.6/13
The Japanese culture has been fasciating for me to research, especially their art style. What I’ve tried to accomplish is to use comtemporay techniques and old techniques to better my style within this art form. An old characterisitic which I’ve started using is their calligraphy art form. The Kimono Lady is a prime example of using calligraphy within my work. It makes the object look like it was painted with a calligraphy brush. While comtemporay styles I’ve tried out drawing Japanese ‘anime’ characters, ‘Chibis’ and using their symbolic colour palette.

FUTURISTIC ART
Pg.9/13
Futuristic has been my inspiration since I started graphic design. The art form just has a unique and new feel to it like it hasn’t been done before which is what I find interesting about it. Another two influences which have made me come to love futuristic art is one WipEout (computer game) and the second one is the Designers Republic who did the graphics for WipEout. I’ve tried to incorporate the Designers Republic into my work because they have a simple, symbolic and futuristic theme to their artwork. This is the result.

Logo design in the world of graphics has always been one of my passions. The variety and creativity of a logo is something I find intriguing, rewarding and captivating. I believe that by adding an image, typography and the right colour brings a logo to life. To develop a logo’s identity I create a small animation to assess its potential in the world of branding.
