Rhodes State offers each Tech Prep student a $1000 scholarship. To become eligible, a student must meet minimum GPA requirements and continue in their Tech Prep Pathway at college. Parents must complete the FAFSA and submit results to each college. Students’ guidance counselors have specific information regarding GPA and pathway requirements. Students will receive an official college transcript for the courses completed. This is offered at no cost to the student or home school. Last year students from the following programs earned college credit: Engineering & CAD, Interactive Multimedia, Computer Networking & Information Support Systems, and Computer Programming. Area 8th Graders Attend Future Options

The courses 8th grade students select for their freshman year are the start of a four year plan that will determine what career choices are open to them at graduation. The “Future Options” program informs students about the academic skills they will need to pursue their career choice. Students attended sessions that discussed what is needed to enter colleges, apprenticeship programs, the military along with mini-presentations by students from college tech prep and vocational programs at Millstream.
