Dear Harcourtians,
The new academic session has commenced and new members have joined the esteemed family of the Harcourtians. We are aware that in the present era of stiff competition, budding professionals have to demonstrate a well-rounded knowledge base with a distinctiveness of personality.
A synergy is required between academia and exposure to the expertise of our experienced and accomplished alumni. Therefore, it is an opportune time for me to humbly request the alumni to consider contributing to the professional upgrading of our students through mentoring, knowledge sharing, offering projects etc. as part of the Alumni Student Connect Program.
The Committee has been geared up for strengthening the connection between alumni and students. I look forward to seeing many of you sharing your knowledge with the upcoming generation of engineers and technologists, enabling them to tackle professional challenges with ease.
With warm regards.
Prof. (Dr.) Onkar Singh President, alumni Association, HBTI Kanpur [email protected]
My Dear Harcourtians,
Here is another edition of the newsletter to celebrate our shared heritage and stay connected for the good of our Harcourtian fraternity.
I am pleased to share that the Alumni Awards have been declared open for the year 2019 and I would request & encourage all of you to nominate outstanding Harcourtian(s) you think we all need to applaud. May I also request you to spread the word for the same purpose.
It is heartening to see that the Alumni Chapter movement gaining ground in and outside the country. New chapters are opening as the older ones are becoming more active. In a world connected by technology keeping the human connections alive and nurtured cannot be impressed upon enough
Keep the good stories pouring in. Here?s wishing you a happy festive season ahead.

Induct ion is not t he sam e any m ore
Induction or Orientation for as we entered HBTI (as it was called then) was
nothing like what it is now. New students in the university have a much
broader view of the world as they enter the course. Take for eg. this year
there have been a host of speakers from diverse background who have
come and addressed the students. Mr. Abhinav Shukla ? Head Corporate
Banking from UAE Bank Dubai spoke about the start-up environment and
the need to be focused on ?solving genuine problems? for start-ups. He also
exhorted the students to focus on becoming employment generators than
employment seekers. The Assistant Director General of Police Mr. Prem
Prakash spoke about the civic rights and responsibilit ies of students and
stressed on the need for the student community to work for the honour
and integrity of the nation. Dr. Raghavendra Jaiswal an orthopedic surgeon
stressed on the need for students to nurture their health by adopting right
habits.
