U From The Principals Primary School Dear parents and caregivers, The next few weeks are jam packed with events across the school so please check our term planner and keep an eye on the school app to stay informed. The P & C fun run was a huge success last Friday raising a substantial amount of funds for the school. This is just one of the many ways that the P & C supports the school to give students the best possible education during their time at Endeavour. Their active Facebook page is a great place to keep up to date with all of the canteen events and other initiatives. School Reports will be going home at the end of this term indicating student progress against year level outcomes in the first half of the year. We will be providing a school based insert to further explain grade allocations. Please contact your child’s teacher if you would like to find out more about your child’s progress and how to help them at home. I’d like to make note of some of our extra curricular activities happening through the school, facilitated by staff to provide students with a range of fun learning experiences. At various stages throughout the week you can walk through the school and see our Senior Dance Group practicing their moves at lunch time, our junior and senior choirs perfecting their skills for upcoming performances, the many sporting teams training for the winter carnival as well as students working on design and technology based projects in the art room. These activities are just a snapshot of our staff going ‘the extra mile’ to make school a place where students want to be. Phil Springett - Principal Education Support Centre Hi everyone, In this newsletter I’d like to let you know about a FANTASTIC project that will be happening in our school grounds very shortly………………we are creating a new nature based play area called ‘Discovery Playscape’. Construction by Nature Based Play will commence in the July school holidays and will take 6-8 weeks to complete, which means the Discovery playground will be out of action for that time but we will still have the Loose Parts out in the Cook Block alcove. The plans have been drawn up and are on display in the windows of each of the classroom blocks – so check them out when you get a chance. There is going to be a cubby area…………..climbing and abacus…..….water play…….tyres and ropes balance ………..an outdoor classroom……and a forest! You might have lots of questions about what the playground will look like and be made of and I’m happy to answer your questions. Please feel free to catch up with me in the playground or the office and if I’m not around then you can email me your questions and I’ll get back to you with the answers. My email address is [email protected] I am pleased to be able to let you know that Mrs Caitlyn Knox has accepted an appointment at Endeavour ESC for the remainder of this year and will continue in her teaching role in Room 25. She tells me she is looking forward to all the Endeavour events for 2016 that she has been hearing a lot about. I will be taking some Long Service Leave at the end of this term in Weeks 8, 9 and 10 and Mrs Kerri-Anne Benbow will be the Principal in my absence. Then in Weeks 1, 2 and 3 next term Mrs Jacinta Savell-Stewart will be the Principal while I am away. Both Mrs Benbow and Mrs Savell-Stewart will be able to help you with anything you need so please don’t hesitate to ask them. Due to an increase in the volume of traffic on the south side of Achiever Avenue and for the safety of all our students, the School Bus will relocate their drop off and pick up point to the dedicated Bus Bay at the front of the Schools. Please don’t use this Bus Bay between 8.15 and 8.30am and 2.50 and 3.05pm each school day as this is when the School Bus is due. We will be using traffic cones to indicate where the bus will be parking during these times. Thank you for your understanding. Regards, Jayne Gorbould - ESC Principal Issue 9 9th June 2016 With the onset of the colder weather, already lots of students and parents are coming into the front office looking for lost jumpers. Please ensure that all items of clothing, drink bottles and lunch boxes are clearly labelled with your child’s name so that we can return them to students when they are found. If your child happens to come home with an item which does not belong to them, please have the courtesy to return it to the school so we can return it to its rightful owner. Thankyou. A reminder to parents/caregivers that any incursion/excursion which are $5.00 or over must be put into the yellow envelopes (clearly marked with the child’s name, amount and event) and placed into the black collection box in Admin. Amounts under $5.00 should be given to the classroom teacher. Outstanding Voluntary Contributions for 2016 can be paid either with cash or EFTPOS through the front office, over the phone or direct deposit. Statements showing outstanding amounts will be sent out at the end of term.

We were all very excited to do

“Try Everything”

Year 6 Bridgetown Camp 2016

My favourite part of camp was

canoeing with Mr Nurse. It was

really great because we didn’t

fall out.

Lili Room 9

My favourite part of camp was boot

camp. We got to run up and down the

huge hill outside of the camp school.

Shakira Room 9

On the second day of camp we got to go

bike riding. We started on a cement

path then went off onto a bush track.

Some of the kids rode through puddles

and one fell into a puddle and looked like

a flapping fish. Everyone had a good

time.

Seth Room 8

My favourite part of camp was the blind fold

maze. You had to go around a rope course

with a blind fold on. I got dizzy, but found a

branch to hang on to and then found another

rope. I made it to the end, I was so happy.

Charlotte Room 8

My favourite activity was the raft

making because me and my team

where having a great time and our

raft didn’t fall apart.

U Community Notices

Please check the noticeboard outside the staffroom regularly for

community events and sporting information received by the schools.

Notices in the Community Advertising section are inserted for your

information. The schools are not associated with any of these groups or

businesses. Endeavour Schools have EFTPOS facilities available in the front office. This facility can be used for payments over $5 such as contributions, swimming lessons or excursions. Smaller amounts must go

through the class money books.

Parents are encouraged to make payments in advance for any future expenses such as

swimming lessons, incentivals and excursions.

These payments will be held as credit in your child’s account and then allocated against

excursions as they occur. Payment can be made by cash, EFTPOS or direct deposit.

Credit card payments can be made over the phone as well as in the office.

A change to our payment plan policy will mean that all incursions / excursions will need

to be paid IN FULL before the due date otherwise your child may not be eligible to

attend.

If you require any more information, please see the front office.

Our Book Fair will be held in Week 8. The Book Fair is a great place to find exciting new books for you and your child/children to enjoy.

Come along and buy a great book!! Part proceeds go towards the Kindy & Pre Primary Nature Garden!!
