Newsletter 9/2018 4 December 2018 Dear Parent/Guardian From the Principal’s desk Hoërskool Lydenburg thanks our Lord for the blessings we have received during this year. The positive teachers, parents, learners and friends of LHS are necessary for us to be an exceptional school. The short notice on changes, from the Department of Education, regarding syllabi, promotion requirements and their poor planning have to be manage by the management of LHS, the teachers, parents and SGB on a daily basis. However, in the face of what at times might have seemed insurmountable problems, our teachers have soldiered on in their commitment to the delivery of quality education. We have no doubt that our National Senior Certificate results will once again be a source of joy and pride in the professionalism of our teachers as well as a testimony of the quality education delivery in LHS. A word of thanks to our parents, learners and friends of LHS, for the continuous support. Thanks to the SGB for their contribution and diligent service in 2018. Their competence and professional leadership helps us steer the LHS ship. We are looking forward to the results of our grade 12 learners in January 2018. Best of luck. Staff We are saying goodbye to Mesdames A Storm, me K Winterbach, and mr C Joubert, where each of them is going to leave many behind, we wish them all good wishes for the future. In 2019 we welcome mr J Moll and me M du Toit as teachers at Hoërskool Lydenburg. We are looking forward to you becoming part of the LHS family. Administration The school opens on 07 January 2019 for all teachers and on 09 January 2019, at 07:15 for learners. Hostels will open on 08 January 2019 at 10:00. When the grade 8 learners have completed the welcome course successfully, we have the tradition of the “LHS Gate”. During this event the grade, 8’s will accepted as new members of the Hoërskool Lydenburg family and every grade 8 learner will need his/her own school blazer.
