ONLINE SAFETY The Commonwealth Government’s Office of the Children’s eSafety Commissioner has developed a       resource for parents — iPARENT — which is designed to help parents learn how to be safe and secure with the connected devices in their children’s lives. iparent — found at h ps://www.esafety.gov.au/educa on‐resources/iparent — provides facts and stats about Australian children online, managing   technology in the home and strategies used by parents to keep children safe online. A parent’s guide to online safety can be downloaded from the site and a range of useful informa on is available. Informa on is also available for parents about unwanted contact, inappropriate, offensive or illegal content and     sex ng. The Department of  Educa on also has  a cyber safety resource for parents on its website —   Raising  Good Digital Ci zens which is accessible at h p://www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/en/technology/using‐technology/raising‐good‐digital‐ci zens. Check them out when you get the chance.

PROUD AND DEADLY AWARD Gadara School’s Grace Ford‐Robson a ended the local ‘Proud and Deadly’           Aboriginal Student Awards recently held at Bila Park in Tumut. Grace received her award for encouragement and improvement in literacy and numeracy. The ‘Proud and Deadly’ awards are a celebra on and recogni on of the achievement and     excellence of Aboriginal students from pre‐school to Year 12 in public educa on. Congratula ons Grace.

ROAD SAFETY REMINDER As the Christmas holidays approach we would like to remind parents and students of the importance of road safety, especially  holding a child’s hand when on or near a road. The           consequences of not taking this precau on were reinforced in two coronial inquests in the deaths of two young boys, aged 6 and 4, recently.  Both boys were run over a er running out onto the roadway while walking with their families while on holidays. At the conclusion of these inquests the Deputy State       Coroner found that it is extremely important that children be well educated in schools and that parents and carers are aware of the importance of holding children’s hands when near roadways.

SOCCER FUN Students have been par cipa ng in   soccer for sport this term. Sam Gray from Wagga Futsal has been working with the students to improve their      soccer skills.  Over the past four weeks we have seen some great improvement and we think we might have some budding soccer  players in the ranks…...
