ASQ Charlotte October Event

ASQ Charlotte Section 1110 October 2016

On October 11

th, 38 people attended our ASQ Charlotte Tour of the NoDa Brewing Company located at 2921 North Tryon

Street. This tour included their new 30,000 sq. feet Brew house and Taproom. Quality practices were incorporated from start to finish in their process. The tour included a detailed description of the process from receiving milled grain and hops to canning the product. It was evident from the process control was used to maintain brew temperatures and feed rates to the techniques used for yeast propagation. We learned how various flavors like chocolate and coconut are incorporated into certain beers. NoDa Brewing practiced sustainability by providing the used grain to local farmers for animal feed. The event attendees enjoyed the networking opportunity.

ASQ Charlotte EQR Event- September 2016

Dr. Martin Armstrong

Charter Communications (previously known as Time Warner Cable) hosted our 11

th Executive Quality Roundtable (EQR)

event on September 16th, 2016. The topic was “Mergers & Acquisitions: Ready for Change?” Senior leaders from Carolina

Healthcare, Charter, Domtar, Eaton, Ingersoll Rand, Siemens, and Sundance Solutions participated in an interactive dialogue with Dr. Martin Armstrong around the struggles in executing large scale change management initiatives like Mergers and Acquisitions. Dr. Martin Armstrong brought a wealth of knowledge on employee readiness for organizational change based on his dissertation from his doctorate degree and his personal experience of being a part of over a dozen merger and acquisitions in his career. The leaders spent one breakout session exploring how vision can help/hinder the organizational change process and the reasons behind resistance to change. The objective of the Executive Quality Roundtable (EQR) series is to provide an ongoing, interactive and engaging venue for senior leaders who share a passion for leading sustained Quality and Continuous Improvement. Through the interactive discussions leaders shared experiences and potential solutions with each other on problems they are facing in their organizations and industries. We would like to thank Dr. Martin Armstrong and Bryan McAllister from Charter Communications in facilitating and hosting this thought provoking event!
