Counting our Blessings... January 24, 2020
Catholic Schools Week will officially begin on Sunday as the K of C’s host a Parish Breakfast after the 8:30 and 10:30 Masses. We will also be celebrating the installation of Fr. Michael as our Pastor, with Bishop Raica officiating. We will have many wonderful events/activities throughout the week including: the 10th Annual Catechism Bee, moderated by Bishop Raica on Tuesday, at 9:00, Adoration and Mass at St. Stephens (5th-7th gr.), Spirit Days on Monday-Friday, etc. Parents/guests are welcome to join us throughout the week as we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, especially at St. Ann School, which is celebrating 110 years of being a Community that Learns, Serves, Leads, Succeeds!
I would like to congratulate and thank our Boys basketball players and coaches for a great season! We are proud of our teams for their spirit, attitude, sportsmanship, etc. as well as, the tremendous improvement they made throughout the season! Unfortunately, the season-ending tournament last Saturday was cancelled due to inclement weather and the schools involved were not able to reschedule the tournament.
The girls will start their basketball season with the A and B Spirits playing at home against St. Mary on Monday, February 3. Go Spirits!
The upcoming weeks in February will be extremely busy, not only with Catholic Schools Week, but with many other events, activities, games, and all the important day-to-day classroom lessons the students are a part of! I will remind you to continue to read the School Newsletter, Classroom Newsletters, and BrightArrow messages to stay updated on what is going on!
We are truly looking forward to celebrating Catholic Schools Week (January 26-31) but I need to appeal to our parents to do their part to support our school in the ways you have agreed to! A child’s education begins at home and that includes our families: attending weekend Liturgies/services, staying true to their financial commitments in regards to tuition/tithing, and follow through on your parent volunteerism. Many of our parents understand that we have a great school, one that you have chosen for your child(ren) to attend, but our partnership in providing the best Catholic/Christian education for all our students can only be attained if everyone does what they have agreed to do! What group are you in!
From the Principal St. Ann School Mission Statement We at St. Ann School are guided by the Holy Spirit to provide an exceptional Catholic education for students spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. Vision St. Ann School is committed to the development of the whole child in Catholic Faith, academic excellence, strong athletics, and Christian service. Early Education Informational Meeting St. Ann School offers an exceptional early childhood education in a faith-filled environment. Children develop at different rates, especially during early childhood. What is the difference between Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten? The variety of
programs we offer gives parents the opportunity to select the class that best fits their child’s needs. Get the facts, meet the teachers, tour the classrooms. Our Informational Meeting is Thursday, March 5, at 6:30pm.
Staff members from Gordon Food Service stopped by to drop of a check for $236 from their Dinner Donations Program. Thank you Gordon Food Service for donating these funds to our Food Pantry!
