Kerala is the only state in India which has a maximum number of entrepreneurs across the globe, especially in UAE. UAE is well known as mini Kerala, just for the number of Keralites present there. UAE has always welcomed expatriates with wide open arms. Some of the richest Indians in UAE moved to UAE in 70’s and 80’s and made their fortune. Among the richest and most influential businessmen In UAE, some have consistently maintained their name in the list of top 10 richest Indian in UAE. This includes Business tycoons like Ravi Pillai, Chairman RP group, P Mohamed Ali, MD Galfar Construction, Yusuffali, LULU group. Ravi Pillai, Chairman of the RP group tops the latest list among the richest Indian in UAE. Most of his profit comes from Nasser S AlHajri Corporation (NSH), a company he founded in 1978in Saudi Arabia. He started his career as a contractor in Kerala before shifting to UAE. He shifted to UAE with his 200 workers because of a strike that happened at one of his sites and started building his dream in UAE with those 200 men. He is often referred as “Ambani of Gulf “. Ravi Pillai’s shot to fame with the acquisition of LEELA Hotels from CP Krishnan Nair. P Mohamed Ali, is the founder of Galfar Engineering and Contracting Co. In 1972, Dr P Mohamed Ali founded Galfar Engineering and Contracting, in the Sultanate of Oman, along with Sheikh Dr. Salem Said Al Fannah Al Araimi. Galfar began as a small construction company and grew to become Oman's largest private sector employer. In 2004 from Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then Prime Minister of India, Dr. P. Mohamed Ali received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman award, for promoting the honor and prestige of India. Yusuffali M.A, MD of EMKE LuLu group of companies that owns the LULU Hypermarket in the Middle East. Yusuffali is the world’s second richest Malayalee. Out of 32000 employees, 24000 are from Kerala, mostly from his native place. Yusuffali moved to Abu Dhabi in 1973, where his father and uncle had a small Kirana store. In 1983, he decided to set up big supermarkets in Abu Dhabi instead of small grocery stores. He now has a net worth of about 16,300 Cr. These are the businessmen who have always registered their name in the list of richest Indian in UAE. The other names are as diverse as it is impressive.
