From: JGU Vice Chancellor I hope you are all safe and in the best of health. As students, scholars, faculty, staff and members of a university community, you may all have recognised the importance of staying engaged and looking to the future with optimism and a sense of possibility, during these extraordinarily difficult times for our country and the world. While we remain in isolation and confinement in the coming days, many of us may face difficulties, including with managing daily life under lockdown, caring for family members and loved ones, and maintaining our physical and mental well- being. In the midst of this crisis, we may find solace in renewing our commitment to our respective areas of interest and scholarship, while also seeking new and unexplored subject areas. As promised last week, I would like to share a diverse set of materials that includes online articles, book chapters, journal articles, policy reports, podcasts, videos, interviews and many other features. The materials are categorised across the various disciplinary areas that are of relevance to the teaching, research and scholarship that we engage in at JGU across different schools of JGU. This has been a rather arduous exercise for me working very hard for the last several days, reading on subjects and issues that I had little prior knowledge or for that matter interest. Watching these videos and hearing the audios have been a rather inspiring experience for me personally. I hope this is the case with you as well. I cannot imagine that at any point of time in my past life, I had so much time to do such general reading and reflection as much as I did in the last few days. I am glad that I could produce what you will see below, but this effort was simply more than what I had hoped for:) All of them are authored by or feature eminent scholars, thinkers, public intellectuals, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers who have given considerable thought and in many cases, spent a lifetime devoted to the various critical dimensions in their field of specialisation. This is not meant to be an authoritative or comprehensive listing of readings and materials in these disciplines, but as a collection comprising a diverse range of medium, views and perspectives. My hope is that regardless of whichever school you belong to, you may find the materials given below useful and interesting and I hope you will traverse beyond your disciplinary confines and consider reading/watching/hearing these materials.. My apologies in advance, if you don't like any of the links below for any reason or you feel that I should have included some other materials. They are just my personal choices and to a large extent meant for students, rather than faculty. I have consciously left out some fantastic articles and serious scholarly works of our own faculty members as they are all with us and I trust that you know them and their work very well. I hope that you will find this collection useful and engaging. I also hope it will inspire you to think, read, write and research on issues that will continue to remain of concern nationally and globally, once we emerge from this difficult time!

I hope you are all safe and in the best of health. As students, scholars, faculty, staff and members of a university community, you may all have recognised the importance of staying engaged and looking to the future with optimism and a sense of possibility, during these extraordinarily difficult times for our country and the world. While we remain in isolation and confinement in the coming days, many of us may face difficulties, including with managing daily life under lockdown, caring for family members and loved ones, and maintaining our physical and mental well-being.

I am glad that I could produce what you will see below, but this effort was simply more than what I had hoped for:)

All of them are authored by or feature eminent scholars, thinkers, public intellectuals, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers who have given considerable thought and in many cases, spent a lifetime devoted to the various critical dimensions in their field of specialisation. This is not meant to be an authoritative or comprehensive listing of readings and materials in these disciplines, but as a collection comprising a diverse range of medium, views and perspectives.
