FRIULANO - 2018 Established 2007 ScarpettaWine.com The grape varietal Friulano is the building block of Friulano Cuisine and from a culture and historical perspective it is the most important white varietal of the Friuli region. This Friulano comes from the Colli Orientali from sites in and around the hills of Rossazo and Corno di Rossazo all planted on Ponca soil. ALCOHOL 12.5% DENOMINATION Friulano Colli Orientali Del Friuli DOC VINE TRAINING Guyot VINIFICATION A collaboration with Christian Patat in Colli Orientali. The wine was aged partly in small 5 hl stainless steel tanks and in neutral barrique. Blending is 70% from barrique and 30% from stainless steel. AGING Aged 13 months and then 6 months in bottle before release. APPEARANCE Bright, platinum, pale in color. AROMATICS Ripe strawberry, citrus and candied lemon all folded in with a hint of cinnamon and spice. PALATE Full body Friulano with great texture, extract and medium acidity. FOOD AND WINE PAIRINGS Our Friulano’s greatest food pairing is Prosciutto di San Daniele. It is also great with poultry, light pork dishes and fattier fish like salmon or tuna.
