What questions do you usually ask when you want to get acquainted with someone?4. What can you advise a teenager who has no friends?5. They say: "A person has just one true friend". 1. Let's talk about friendship. What role do friends play in your life? Songs, poems and proverbs about friendship are common and can be found in all languages. It is so because friendship has a great value in our life.

The best of friends totally love, support, trust each other, and bare to each other the secrets of their souls, and run – no questions asked – to help each other, and tell harsh truths to each other when they must be told.

It's true. You can tell a person by the company she keeps. Our friendships not only tell a lot about who we are -- they make us who we are. A friendship is true when it brings out the best in you. So my friends are very important to me.

2. Can you rely on your best friend? Why (not)? Everyone knows the proverb “A friend in need is a friend indeed” – according to the old saying a good friend should always help us in difficulties, cheer us up and raise our spirits when we are down, troubled or when nothing is going right. Trust is the most important aspect of any relationship. I believe I can trust my best friend and rely on him/ her.

3. What questions do you usually ask when you want to get acquainted with someone? The questions may be like these:

1) Where are you from?2) Where do you study?3) What is your hobby?4) What is your favourite writer?5) How do you usually spend your holidays?

4. What can you advise a teenager who has no friends?Frankly speaking it’s not a usual case. Probably, a person with such problems needs advice on behalf of a psychologist. But if someone asks me to help, I will recommend her or him to join some kind of a club or a society to meet people with the same interests.

5. They say: "A person has just one true friend". What do you think about this?

In the reality there are very few true friends. There is no shortage of acquaintances with whom you have superficial relationship. A real friend, on the other hand, is usually one person who shares your life. A friend can bare his inner feelings to you, and will support you unconditionally through thick and thin. And you can rely on your friend to tell you the truth, even if it’s not always fully pleasant. There is no envy and there are no such hidden agendas between friends. True friends are hard to find, and are worth holding on to. They are worth more than gold.

1. Let's talk about friendship. What's your best friend like?2. Is it easier to make friends when you are an adult or a child? Why?3. What questions do you usually ask when you want to get acquainted with someone?4. What can you advise a teenager who wants to make friends in a new school?5. They say: "If you haven't learnt the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learnt

anything". What do you think about this?

I’d like to tell you about my best friend. Her name is … . I have known her since our primary school. From our appearances we are total opposites. She has blond hair, hazel eyes, full lips, a snub nose and a broad smile. ….is tall and slim, because she goes in for sports. I wouldn’t say the way we dress is not very different, but of course we have some special preferences in our clothes. I think her clothes are a little bit funky. As for her personality she is outspoken and outgoing. Nevertheless she is quite reasonable. It’s her best quality, I think. Besides she’s got a good sense of humor. She always has a witty joke for a situation. So we always have fun. She is the kind of person that likes to start the party. She is very kind and always ready to give me a helping hand.

2. It is easier to make friends when you are a child. Because children are usually easy-going, they have no prejudice like social position or the level of education. They have open mind and perceive the world as it is. Their hearts are open to new ideas and feelings. They don’t analyze too much they enjoy the life in its full variety. That’s why it’s easier to make friends when you are a child.

4.What can you advise a teenager who wants to make friends in a new school?First of all I will advise him or her not to be intrusive. First watch - then choose a person with whom you may feel at ease and comfortable. Invite him or her to go somewhere and have a talk in informal atmosphere and the situation may be changed.

5.They say: "If you haven't learnt the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learnt anything". What do you think about this?Only being a good friend yourself you may understand the meaning of friendship. We are social creatures so we can’t live in isolation. We need people to be with us. Besides we can enjoy life with close people who always help us in difficulties, cheer us up and raise our spirits when we are down, troubled or when nothing is going right. However, experience shows that good friendship is based on a delicate balance. That is why friendship must be cherished to become stronger and stronger, it must be “planted like a seed”. So friendship is great experience of deep relationship.

№31. Let's talk about friendship. How important is friendship for you?2. Can you rely on your best friend? Why (not)?3. What questions can help you to understand if people are close friends or not?4. What can you advise a teenager who doesn't want to go to school because of bullying?5. Nowadays teenagers have got up to 300 friends in Contact. What do you think about it?

So my friendship is very important to me.

3. What questions can help you to understand if people are close friends or not?I think best friends almost everything about each other. So I may ask questions like these:

- What is the best trait of character of your friend?- How much free time do you spend together?- What is your friend’s favourite book?

4.What can you advise a teenager who doesn't want to go to school because of bullying?

I can advise him or her not to be afraid of discussing the problem with his/her teachers, parents and classmates. 5.Nowadays teenagers have got up to 300 friends in Contact. What do you think about it?

Our modern life with fast speed has made the world a lonely place. So many of us live and work surrounded by people, but it’s hard to find true friendship. Perhaps this is why the websites like “Facebook” and “Contacts” are so popular these days. They allow people to communicate and even become close without meeting up. But in reality it is not friendship. It’s just one of the ways of communication.

1. Let's talk about friendship. People say that friendship isn't a big thing, it's a millionlittle things. What do you think about it?

2. Do you have a good friend among adults?3. What questions can help you to understand if a person can become your friend or not?4. What can you advise a teenager who is moving to a new place?5. Nowadays people prefer to have more money than many friends. What do you think about

it?1.Let's talk about friendship. People say that friendship isn't a big thing, it's a million

little things. What do you think about it?

Songs, poems and proverbs about friendship are common and can be found in all languages. It is so because friendship has a great value in our life. The best of friends totally love, support, trust each other, and bare to each other the secrets of their souls, and run – no questions asked – to help each other, and tell harsh truths to each other when they must be told. All these things happen every day. There are many things that we do together with my friend: it may be a trifle or great events. The thing is, that we go through thick and thin together we get the same emotions and thus we become closer. It’s easier to understand people who have already expressed themselves in different situations. So I absolutely agree, that friendship isn't a big thing, it's a million little things.

2. Do you have a good friend among adults?I think my parents are my best friends. I do really understand that they love me unconditionally. I can trust them and share my feelings. Of course we may argue sometimes. I know my parents respect my opinion and I try to meet them half way. So we are good friends.

3. What questions can help you to understand if a person can become your friend or not?- How do you like to spend your free time?- What is your favourite book (writer, film, character)?- Will you come to my birthday party?

4. What can you advise a teenager who is moving to a new place? If you are moving to a new place you’ll have to change your school. It means you are going to meet new people. First of all I will advise him or her not to be intrusive. First watch - then choose a person with whom you may feel at ease and comfortable. Invite him or her to go somewhere and have a talk in informal atmosphere and then you won’t be alone. Your new friend may help you to adapt in a new school.

5. Nowadays people prefer to have more money than many friends. What do you think about it?

I don’t think it’s so. Of course all of us want to have enough money for life. But it is not enough to be happy. You can work hard and earn money. As for a good friend, it’s not so easy to find a real one. You can’t buy trust or love.

Trust is the most important aspect of any relationship. It takes time to establish trust with people and it's essential that you make establishing trust a priority in your friendship. And, most importantly, once that trust has been established, don't break it. Once trust has been broken, it can be very difficult to get it back. Your money will not help you.
