FRIDAY, JUNE 9, 2017 vs. OAKLAND ATHLETICS RH Alex Cobb (4-5, 4.52) vs. RH Andrew Triggs (5-5, 3.36) ROSTER MOVES…AND A DUBIOUS RECORD—The Rays today made a series of roster moves…they placed CF Kevin Kiermaier on the 10-day DL with a right hip fracture, and 1B Rickie Weeks Jr. on the 10-day DL with a right shoulder impingement (retroactive to June 7)…it is expected Kiermaier will need 6-8 weeks before he can resume baseball activities…the Rays also acquired INF Taylor Featherston from the Phillies for cash consid- erations, recalled OF Mallex Smith from Triple-A Durham and moved SS Matt Duffy (recovery from Achilles surgery) from the 10-day to the 60-day DL…the Rays DL now stands at 13 players, tying the club record for most players at one time…the only other day in club history they had 13 players on the DL was April 23, 2015. Ê C Wilson Ramos (recovery from torn ACL) caught 5 innings yester- day for Class-A Charlotte aand went 0-for-3 at the plate…Ramos is scheduled to DH tonight for Charlotte.
