T ’AI CHI WITH MARGARET EMERSON

Margaret Emerson has been practicing T’ai Chi, Qigong, and meditation for 35 years and teaching for 25. She studied for 6 years with her original teacher, Kao Ching-hua, who learned as a girl in pre-Revolutionary China. During her 2-year stay in South Korea, she studied with Chi Seong-in. Through training camps and workshops, she has had exposure to many additional Chinese and American instructors. Margy is certified by Dr. Paul Lam in teaching both T’ai Chi for Back Pain and Arthritis. Her books are A Potter’s Notes on T’ai Chi Ch’uan and Breathing Underwater: The Inner Life of T’ai Chi Ch’uan. She is a contributor to the book Martial Arts Teachers on Teaching, also to Qi Journal, Aikido Today, and Black Belt Magazine. Her DVD is “Wu T’ai Chi, Kao Style: As Practiced and Taught by Margaret Emerson.” Margy lives in Arcata, CA where she’s currently teaching several forms of T’ai Chi (Wu, Sun, Chen, The 42 Combined Forms) and related exercises.#

Yoga classes in the afternoons#!Handouts will be available to make it possible for people to continue to practice on their own.#!Margaret’s instruction will be in the mornings and evenings, allowing the afternoons for massage, Yoga with Genna Pieri, resting, meditation, and staring off into space. Musicians are invited to bring their instruments.#!
