We should be forever grateful for the opportunities to express and showcase our talents. The beauty of it all is that, at times, we do not believe in ourselves and our own capabilities, and yet it only takes a gentle nudge from someone to say, “Come on, have a go!” and the memory of what we achieved stays with us for a long, long time. We don’t have to be the fastest runner or the best artists or the greatest footballer. Those accolades stay with us only for a very short time. The greatest gift we can give to ourselves and to others lies in the message of Jesus, “Love one another just as I have loved you.” If this is our gift to those we know and those we are yet to meet, then we have talents beyond belief. Thank you to everyone who participated in our Art Extravaganza last night. There was a lot of work behind the scenes from staff and students to make last night a truly memorable affair. At St Mary’s we will:

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Although this time of the school year is a busy one, we have had

opportunities to showcase the many talents of our students. Currently, our

Mini Vinnies group is coordinating a soup drive for our local St Vincent de

Paul chapter; our older athletes have commenced pre-trials and practice

for our athletics carnivals with our younger children eagerly practising ball

games, relays and sprints; our Rugby League students are playing in the

Development Cup today and of course, last night we held our very first Art

Extravaganza.

This was truly a wonderful experience for all involved. Not only were we,

as a community, amazed at the artistic talents of our children and students,

but we were convinced that St Mary’s School has one of the best combined

(Junior and Senior) choirs in town!! We should be forever grateful for the

opportunities to express and showcase our talents. The beauty of it all is

that, at times, we do not believe in ourselves and our own capabilities, and

yet it only takes a gentle nudge from someone to say, “Come on, have a

go!” and the memory of what we achieved stays with us for a long, long

time.

We don’t have to be the fastest runner or the best artists or the greatest

footballer. Those accolades stay with us only for a very short time. The

greatest gift we can give to ourselves and to others lies in the message of

Jesus, “Love one another just as I have loved you.” If this is our gift to those

we know and those we are yet to meet, then we have talents beyond

belief.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Art Extravaganza last night.

There was a lot of work behind the scenes from staff and students to make

last night a truly memorable affair. Thank you to our parents,

grandparents, special friends and other visitors for bringing your

enthusiasm and love for your children in all of the activities they are

involved in. Whether the children show a particular talent in anything they

do or they are yet to find that talent, the community of St Mary’s School

Help us to play to the best of our abilities.

Win or lose, we hope to have fun

with our friends and celebrate life.

Amen.

St Sebastian Patron Saint of Athletes,

Pray for us.

Mini-Vinnies Soup Drive Thank you to everyone who has supported the Mini Vinnies soup collection. These will be given to St Vincent de Paul Society next Tuesday to help support the local disadvantaged right here in Warwick. Vinnies are always looking for blankets and sheets, particularly through winter so if you have any of these that are still in good order you no longer need please drop them to the school office to Mrs Young.

Administration Dropping children to school Parents are reminded that when dropping their children to school of a morning they need to either walk their children into the school or watch from their vehicle to ensure the children enter the school and are safe prior to driving off. If your child is late to school, please sign them in at either office.
