Science provided many proofs that frequent contact of newborns with their mother is a key factor for their development*. Inspired by this, we created a new delivery room environment. It grants the mother dignity and safety during labour, as well as high standard of rest. The most important features of this set is connecting the functions of a hospital bed and a delivery bed, as well as a possibility of the infant to stay in the same room as the patient.

CLOSENESS. SAFETY. DIRECT CONTACT.Using both the Freya labour bed and the OVO newborn bed makes it possible to create exceptional conditions after the delivery for mother and child. 

The patient may rest on this bed, because it fulfils the requirements of a hospital bed and allows independent control of the bed position. The newborn may be placed close to the mother, practically within an arm’s reach, it rests in a safe bed, laying on a mattress specially profiled for its little body. 

The mother may not only change the bed location, but also put the baby to her bed and put it away to OVO. None of these actions re-quires medical staff assistance. Transparent OVO walls allow constant eye contact, which soothes both the mother and the baby. 

Comfortable rest conditions of both of them can be further enhanced by possibility of customisation for both products. Freya can be fitted with beautiful images on side rails and top rails, the top part of OVO bed walls can be adorned, and the whiteboard plate makes it possible to write, for instance, the baby’s name, greetings, or a picture. The ma-ternity ward can be as unique as its guests.

FREYA 3Delivery bed

A modern, four-segment delivery bed with a stable seat segment, supported on three columns, electrically controlled.

The bed is equipped with functions of changing the height of the lying surface, the tilt angle of the back and thigh seg-ments, longitudinal tilting (Trendelenburg and reverse Tren-delenburg position) as well as a function of instant release of back support (CPR). The bed is equipped with three control systems: the central control panel (supervisor), the cable pilot and the control panels in side rails. In order to enhance the safety of the patient, the control panels placed in the internal sides of the side rails are equipped with a function of night floor illumination and calling the medical staff. For the same reason, the cable pilot functions require authorisation using a special key. The control panels in external sides of the side rails make it possible to quickly obtain the Trendelenburg and reverse Trendelenburg positions. The central control panel makes it possible to achieve the Fowler position, zero position, the examination position and cardiac chair position.

VERSATILE BY ITS EQUIPMENT

Freya is a universal product which can act as a hospital bed and a delivery bed. It is possible by using independent control systems (supervisor, cable pilot, ex-ternal and internal control panels) and a wide array of additional equipment. 

Changing the position or configuration of the product can be effected in sev-eral seconds. Operating the Freya bed is intuitive and does not require force, so it can be effectively operated even by a single person. The knee supports (by Geple) are particularly interesting, because due to its ball mechanism they guarantee instant and precise position adjustment.

CLOSE TO EACH OTHER FROM THE EARLY MOMENTSThere is something almost magical in the way child and mother have a positive impact on each other from the first moments after the delivery. They soothe each other, alleviate postpartum shock, promotes secretion of appropriate enzymes, raise their resistance to illnesses… We do not want to interfere in such a perfectly designed process. We prefer to ensure its safety and its comfortable course.

Thanks to OVO, the mother gains a possibility of con-tact with the baby as often as she would like. We give you the possibility to design this product exactly as you would like it to look like. An innovative bed for newborns, its name (Latin “ovo” – an egg, Latin “ab ovo” – from the egg, literally “from the start”) comes from the fact that it allows almost uninterrupted contact of mother and child from the very first moments together.

OVO is compatible with most products on the market; its low base allows it to move close to any hospital bed, and regulation of the laying surface height ensures safe conditions for putting the baby from its bed to the mother’s bed or in the opposite direction. The patient may perform these operations on her own, at any moment.
