Freston Church News
Dear Friends Some of you may know by now that I am moving at the end of September to Oxfordshire. I am going to take the post of Vicar to the Wychwood Benefice which is about 6 miles down the road from Chipping Norton. I have been your rector now for just over 11 years and have )on the whole) thoroughly enjoyed living amongst you. My grandmother used say: “ Count your blessings every day…” When things were going well and “It’s all part of life’s rich tapestry” usually in response to the unexpected or a difficult situation or set back. Wise words, and they have certainly helped me to negotiate the ups and downs of life. We spend a lifetime weaving our own “tapestry of life”. Sometimes it is very colourful and at others some dark tones become entangled in the outlook. As I start on the next stage of my ministry I will be hoping to weave some bright colours into my life, whilst I will be very sad to leave behind so many good friend and fond memories I shall always be giving thanks to God for having had the joy and privilege of having been your friend and Rector. may God bless you all Geoffrey

There is still a vacancy on the Parish Council. Please send names to [email protected]. Or speak to one of the Parish Councillors. In 2019 there will be a parish council election. A number of Freston Parish Councillors have said that they are going to retire.. At the moment we do not employ a clerk and would be grateful if anyone is interested in doing this as when the precept is set we may need to put up the precept to cover paying a clerk and a treasurer. At the moment Freston News is also produced at no cost to the village . If you are interested in producing this please contact Lucy Young or Elizabeth Aldous or e-mail [email protected].
