• Plants-Some aquatic plants have strong roots that keep them anchored securely, others have stems that bend with the movement of the water. Plants in still water float on top.

• Animals-Some animals need the movement of the water to survive. Some animals have suction-cups so they can hang onto rocks in fast moving water.

• Biodiversity contributes to the sustainability of an ecosystem by showing the amount of animals and plants. Also by the different habitats.
